I have several milsurp long guns, and have overgrown my steel gun cabinet. I'd love to have another one just like it, but the company seems to have ceased production. (HOMSAFE)
What I'm looking for is a substantial steel cabinet for 8-12 long guns, with a good lock (barrel lock, etc), that's manageable in size and weight. My original cabinet is 10" deep, about 2' wide, 54" high. Something on that order would be great. Also, I don't want to spend more than a couple hundred.
Not talking about a fire safe, anything over 100#, or wood.
WalMarts locally all tell me that they only stock such things during hunting season, which is Aug.15-Jan.1 here. Deer, that is. Nobody seems much interested in anything else in this area.

Any ideas as to where I might find my next cabinet?
Thanks for reading and replying.

Stack on makes a good cabinet about that size.

I got mine from LL bean several months ago for 99 bucks.

Slots for 8 riles, one shelf and metal pegboard on the door.

It came with a barrel lock, but they sent a replacement standard key lock after the big debacle on those types of locks being pickable with a Bic pen.

Bolted down in a closet, you cant beat it for cabinet storage.

The only problem with ordering LL Bean is that Stack-On ships it directly, and there's a $50 surcharge, plus shipping charge, which essentially doubles the price. I'd happily pay $99 locally and bring it home in my truck, but I don't think it's worth $200. Thanks for the reply though.

Any others?

Rick - Up our way, the local Dick's Sporting Goods has a deal on Stack On about twice a year. I bought a seven gun unit for $79.95 plus tax about 3 months ago. See if you have a Walmart or Dick's in your area. Good luck. ConnScot -

I had a raincheck from Dick's, but they had been advertising sale prices on Stack-On cabinets for several months and had none in stock since October. But this morning, they called me and called in my raincheck. I'll go pick it up tomorrow AM.
