View Full Version : Would you ever ????

On another forum I visit ocassionally there is a new poster who claims to be interested in guns (but some of the things she says just scream troll) who said that she bought a pink and chrome "Caboodles" make up box to carry her range gear (eye and ear protection, etc) and laments her ability to find a pink rifle case.

So my question to the ladies who shoot is this ...

Would you ever carry a pink and chrome make-up box to the range? Or a pink rifle case?

Can I say it this way.......Hell, no!

Thank you!

I thought I was going to choke when I read that.

Here I am worried about finding an IWB that cures the "flare" issue caused by my hips, or rides a little lower to compensate for a shorter waist, or even figuring out if my boobs will get in the way too much with a shoulder holster ... and all Miss Thang is worried about is finding a pink rifle case to match her pink make-up... I mean range box.

I take it that means you wouldn't do it either, Jack! ;)

absolutely not! i think it would be kind of hard to be taken seriously showing up at a range/gun function with crap like that! ;Q

I have some pink underwear, that's about it. I'm not a pink type of girl. My guns are black, my holsters are black, and my range bag is black. Suits me fine. Matches my uniform.;f

Thank you!!

I thought maybe I was just too "butch" or something. But I cannot imagine carrying a pink make up case to the range.

This was over on the Women & Guns (http://womenandguns.com/home/viewforum.php?f=1) forum. Which is mostly dead - but I found posts from this gal and ... oh boy.

She's all upset with me because I said I think she's an Anti.

If you're looking for a real crack up you should check it out. Her name is "Abriel'a" - I'm over there as "CaroleK".

I know most people here would not, but there are pink Kel-tec P32s around.

Then there are also http://www.a-human-right.com/RKBA/mjr/pinkAK.JPG.

Is she for real? She cracks me up. I'm pretty sure our refusal to carry pink gun accessories doesn't qualify us as "butch". Fear not, Mrs. Key.

I fear that she is very much for real.

What I love is she talks about "high powered rifles" and "sniper scopes" and uses language from the Feinstein/Clinton School of Anti Propaganda ... and she wonders why I don't think she's a true gun enthusiast. Boggles the mind. :D

I'd love to see the looks on the faces of the guys at the range if I show up with a pink range case. ;a

Some would laugh, some would ingore her, some would go over to flirt.

Most would flirt.

I'd guess she's a goofball. Maybe a troll. But then, I know someone who shoots a pink rifle. Or wants to find one - and she is definitely NOT a troll. Her favorite color is pink. Different strokes. Definitely not a CCW color, unless you dress like cotton candy. lol.

OK, if not a pink makeup box, how about an "IDPA Barbie" box? :)

OOOOHHH... Cool idea. IDPA Barbie - complete with 1911! Somehow I doubt Mattel would go for it. But that might be one Barbie doll I'd be willing to buy! :D

Pink? Who, me? Not on your life!

MrsKey

I get enough odd looks at the range without drawing more attention to myself with pink range accessories.

That and - I'm just not a "pink" sort of person anyway.

Now - Emerald green range bags... that might be a go!

i-SHOT has some nice green bags. Blue too. Nice work. Reasonable prices. Good quality. Great guy.

BTW, I see myself buying a Barbie one of these days and making her a shooting outfit. ;a ;f ;P

Ditto on the I-shot range bag. Outstanding quality and design at a great price.

My green bag isn't tactical but it is trendy. And I think it would hold a bunch of Barbies.:)

Bagmaster has different colored range bags, too, even purple. I have one of the I-shot GT bags, I stuck with basic black. It's actually a very nice range bag.

My daughter has a couple of GI Joe M16s and Berettas that she used to use when she played Barbies. Even at 12, she doesn't have a pink rifle (she likes shooting her 22 cal Chipmonk best). My wife doesn't own anything pink and doesn't wear makeup (much to my joy) and the guns she shoots are all business. Pink - she'd have to work to keep from laughing herself!

I will admit that I am starting to like pink more (used to hate it), but I would NEVER even consider it. Not only would it draw a lot of attention, but that light color would be impossible to keep clean in the dust and dirt of a range. ;f

Although I wouldn't bring a pink make-up/range box to the range, my lady looks real nice on the lace I make. ;)

Awe, c'mon, nothing wrong with pink, especially if its the baddest gun on the range!! Especially if you can shoot it better than most. check out Ramona's rifle, she has one hell of a reputation for being a contender.

http://www.aaa-ammo.com/pic.htm Eh, I don't know. It's great that she's doing so well on the range, but I still wouldn't be caught dead with that in my hands.

I used to ride, I had an FXRS. It didn't look like a girly machine, it was a nice looking bike, though. I've never gone for frills, and chrome don't get you home. But that's just me ;)

C-Mama, she sure does, you are quite talented. Your beautiful work does make a good display for your Lady.

There's nothing wrong with being feminine, since we are girls and all. There's practical and impractical, like Reinbeau and Jade said. I guess some of us just don't see the need to jump and down screaming "Look at me, I'm a girl".

My sister-in-law broke my brother's tackle box last year, and they've been carrying a pink caboodle in its place ever since. I always make fun of him for it, but...it works!

No pink... I'm not a "pink" girl but there are a few pieces that have snuck their way into my wardrobe the past year or so.

I would NEVER own a pink gun/rifle/firearm OR put said firearm in a pink case. ;Q

You ride, Ann? I used to have a Kawasaki GPz-900R. The mama of the Ninja ;f ! I really miss it. I want a Hayabusa, or Ninja ZX-10R, or RC-51...or maybe a Yamaha R1 or Suzuki GSXR-1000, but I haven't been able to convince Beloved Hubby that it's a good idea.

I did ride, Cat, but I made a serious mistake.....I sold the bike instead of getting rid of the husband. It took a few years, he finally left, and now I've got a wonderful younger husband who treats me the way we all should be treated....so the bike is a fond memory :) New hubby is a former rider, too, though, so there may be two wheels again in our future - I mean two wheels times two, I don't ride on the back (it's a control thing).

Edited to add it was a 1989 HD FXRS. Candy Brandywine with a Corbin gunfighter seat and a bobtail fender, shorty shocks and dropped on the forks 1"...I could knee it off the stand. Don't get me started!!!

i don't see a problem with it as long as she isn't carrying it. i'm not that much of a pink person but really, who cares? it's not something that will change her ability to shoot. i swear, some people will find anything to ***** about.

Well I'll come out strong in defense of pink... I guess I don't care if people don't take me seriously or give me funny looks at the range. My shooting speaks for itself. ;f

used to know a woman who had a pink...CHAINSAW.

I always wondered where on earth she found the thing.

I'd consider owning a pink chainsaw just for the laugh. But pink range bags and guns? I'm just not that outgoing. The only attention I want at the range is for my speed and accuracy, not my accessories.

When my daughter is older, her first gun will probably be a pink Chipmunk.

http://img41.exs.cx/img41/8153/pix5303812343vh.jpg

Right now I'm in the process of refinishing a Taurus 85 in purple as a surprise for my wife's birthday. I already ordered the mother-of-pearl grips and next month I'm going to send it off to CCR.

Now I need to get a purple Bagmaster case to put it in. ;f

I was going to paint the furniture on one of my AKs pink for my daughter, but I can't get 'em off. :(

I have a 4 yr. old daughter that wants a pink shotgun with princess stickers and a pink glock. Her day care thinks she is saying "clocks" I'm not telling them any different. I hope she changes her mind in the next year but if not I'm prepared to color the rifle pink, she won't be big enough for a shotgun for another couple years. Hey if it gets her interested in shooting ......

My youngest daughter has a ultra lightweight .22 rifle that is 2.5 pounds and 26.5 inches long called a Chipmonk. Great little rifle. I have seen another called Cricket of the exact design. Anyway, the Cricket comes in colors including pink. As funny as it seems, an 8, 10 or 12 year old with a pink rifle would qualify as cute. If they want a pink rifle and they will use it let them have a pink one. For that matter, if a person wants a pink or purple with lime green trim rifle or handgun - so be it. I just hope they can back it up with x ring or center of mass hits when the trigger is pulled.

First time visit.
Hi all.
There is a lady that shoots IDPA here in South Florida with a pink handgun. I think it is a 1911.

Kolchak

I'm actually a little surprised that you are all so intolerant of something so trivial as color. I didn't see her posts, and maybe she is indeed a troll, but to me, the important thing is that she is a woman and that she shoots, and should be encouraged rather than denigrated.

Now, don't get me wrong, my favorite color is black, but I say, whatever gets you there is what's right. She goes to the range, that's what counts, and if a pink bag or case or whatever is what makes her feel more comfortable, then let her have it.

By the way, there is an extremely formidable woman IPSC competitor in our area that has a complete Kydex HOT PINK rig, holsters, mag carriers, the whole magilla.;f

Live and let live. I say welcome, you're a woman and you shoot. I'm much more concerned about how she handles herself and her firearms, than what she carries them in :soap:

Okay, off soapbox, and my apologies to all you pink haters if this woman is a silly assed troll that gives women at the range a bad name.;f
