I first saw this Squire Telecaster in a local music store and thought it was mexican made. I went home and researched the gutiar on the web and saw nothing but fine reviews about it.
I was skeptical knowing it was a Squire product.
I have 12 yeas experience playing the guitar.(Stratocasters)
I recieved the guitar yesterday, it was packed very well.
Ripped the packaging open and found a beautiful sweet butterscotch finish, I believe the body is alder.
The neck was really nice and smooth, the fret dressing was adequate.
The guitar was in perfect intonation. The tuners are good and it stays in tune.
I played it, and dam it has that Tele twang!! This guitar is a keeper, it offers many differrnet tones then I have with my Jag-Stang and Strat.
Anybody interested in a Telecaster and doesn't want to pay a fortune and wants to save their money for guns. Check out this Telecaster.

Heres a link were I got there are also other reviews and spec.

I think those Squires are made in China. I wouldn't waste $200 on one, but, to each their own.
But for beginners or players on a budget, you could do a lot worse.
