View Full Version : Finally purchased my 1st 1911!
Hi BoG's,
Atlast..got myself a cheap 1911 cal. 45 pistol for a starter. This is my 1st 1911 semi-auto pistol. Just bought a cheap one first to thinker and to get used to it before getting a high end competition boomer next year(if the boss permits).:) I am expecting to have this unit in my hand this coming December. This thing might be cheap but who knows...maybe it shoot's as good as those high end boomer.;)

Hi PMMA97,
Got it for 23k all-in-all. 15.6k unit price + 6.1k non-appearance processing of license & other docs.+ 1.5k for ambi-safety & MSH with built-in magwell add-ons. Tinawad ko nalang yung 200, it is supposed to be 23.2k.:) btw, purchased it at Shooters, Manalili Cebu Branch.
Hi Batang,
Di ko kasi nabili kaagad. So they told me it would be release after 1 month kaso wala na ako doon. So what i deed is to have an agreement with them asking them to process my purchase this coming August nalang para it will be release by crame on Sept. Para pagdating ko sa December or January ulit, valid pa yung lahat na mga papers & docs ko. Baka kasi maka-bili ng 9mm(941F or DP51)sa pagbalik ko dyan. ;f
Mikol,
941F na lang, forget about DP51 (its a nice defense gun though, as casmot can attest)

yun din ang recommendation ng Magnificent sakin when i went to their store. :) kala ko kasi kaya nila ni recommend dahil mas mahal kaysa sa DP51.;)
941F is really my first option since it was highly commended by a great shooter and also a range officer friend of mine Mr. Karlon Rama.;f

hi jun,
Actually i was just being practical. Gun stores in Cebu City mostly don't have in their shelves stock spare parts of Armscor & Norinco. But S.A.M had ample of spare parts readily available over the counter.;f Mas maigi na yung drop-in mo nalang yung pyesa kaysa mag-kikikil ka tapos masira mo yung parts sayang.;) Tsaka just want to try S.A.M's quality kung talagang nagbago na as what they Brag.
hey mikol,
so what are the improvements on SAM's pistol line? i wanna find out if its a good alernative if and when i build my 1911:)

Mannix,
Besides the finishes, they said they had already made ways on how they cast/mold their slides/frames just to avoid some "ampaw" or lemons in the units (need to see my unit 1st before saying so.) Sizes of the holes, spare parts and etc. are more of mil. specs now compared to the previous prods.(But still saw the mag-release button oversize.^8)Well...things cannot be perfected in just a snap of our fingers.;)
Mannix, if your are planning to build a 1911 comp/race gun using S.A.M's parts, you better get their Alpha or Omega units. Those units really looks well made and physical features looks tough & suitable for competition purpuses. One thing though, it only comes in .40 cal.;Q
I've seen a S.A.M Elite(gov't model single stack) and a S.A.M Falcon(hi-cap full size) for delivery in their Store. I inspected the units and really am amaze of what i saw. (But still the performance i have to check though.) To compare the physical appearance of those units to the same models i saw 4 years ago..there's really alot of difference.:)
I maybe am a newbie but i've been lurking in so many guns stores everytime im in the P.I. and i can really say that S.A.M firearm units really had improved alot.
I am not connected to S.A.M or even had or have any relatives working with them. I am just expressing myself and trying to share what i had experience while visiting their Factory. So don't consider this post as an add ok guys? ;f
thanks! if ever i do build one, i'd just use the frame and slide, barrel. internals will be replaced by US parts. maybe the barrel will be replaced also depends on the budget. basically just like what mcoliver did to his armscor (minus the kalikot;f )

i am not into shooting competition yet, so i just got myself a S.A.M Commodore(pang bahay baga). Pero pag naisipan kunang rumatrat, i might use a Jericho 941F(9mm/.40 convert.)Kaya nga kailangan mapag-iponan na kaagad.;f
