After reading all the squirrel recipes here I need to know where to find some in Utah...anyone know?? Also, is there a specific season to hunt them or permit required? Thanks

http://www.rules.utah.gov/publicat/code/r657/r657-019.htm (rules about 'nongame' animals)

as to where - you're on your own! ;f

Utah doesn't have the type of squirrels used for eating save the Abert's down south. I don't think there's a season on them nowadays but it never hurts to check.

You can always eat the small tree squirrels found throughout the state (I did in my college days - once) but there's not much meat and, barring the lack of hardwood trees and the mast they produce, taste like *****.

Closest place I know of and have hunted for fox and gray squirrels like they have in the East and mid-West is a Colorado state forest just north of Denver.
