New 31

Hey guys, I think that I qualify for this section of the forum since I got my new glock 31 this week. This is only my second auto loader so I am still a little green. I traded a Sig Pro for my new glock and love it to death. As I posted in the .357 forum, I would like to know as much as possible about the 31, and would also like some input on how the model code works for glock. (Is it frame size or cal. or some other method?) Wish me luck with my new baby!!!

Your G31 is the exact size of the G17 9mm and G22 40s&w.

The other .357Sig Glocks are the compact G32 and the subcompact G33. You have the full size.

What else do you want to know? The .357Sig uses the same diameter bullet as the 9mm does. It is .355" in diameter. The maximum pressure the .357Sig is loaded to is 40,000psi, which is higher than the 9mm or 40s&w. This generally makes the round louder and more powerful than either of the others. It is also more expensive. Recoil of the G31 is not bad, but the smaller and lighter G33 can be rough. Good luck with it.
