Actually traded my G22 for it to a fellow Glocker. The G21 is such a soft shooter and very accurate. Mine has the heinie sights, which i find i prefer to the factory ones. The all black heinie sights take a bit of getting used to, but they're really nice.

I like the fat grip and the 13 round mag capacity is unreal. I fired 100 rounds downrange with no issue. Just a pleasure to shoot.

Anyway, i guess i'm a big dawg now, and i couldn't be happier.

Got a G30 yet?!

I had both for awhile, and I liked the G30 LOTS better for most things.

The only real advantage my G21 had was I could launch lighter bullets more efficiently through its longer barrel...but I shoot better with the G30, so I use 230 grain slugs exclusively now.

Have fun with it!!

I would suggest he try a 30 first. I tried a 30 after everyone saying they preferred if over the 21. I did not like it as much as my 21. It was smaller, that is about the only advantage I thought it had. I am more accurate with my 21, it has less recoil, and regularly holds more.

But, I have large hands, am 6'3" and 290lbs, and can CCW a 21 no problem. I wanted a 30 (for a backup to my 21) until I shot one. For me G21 = best glock for me so far.

I am not saying you are wrong. Experiences and preferences will differ. So I suggest try before you buy. Becasue I know if I had just went ahead and bought it, I would have been selling it pretty soon afterwards.

Love my 21 as well, for all the reasons you list. It's also not picky but has a decided pref for anything 230gr. ;f

I put Heinies on mine, but usually have all black sights just on range guns and since this was to be a winter-carry option, I ordered just the Heinie Straight-8 (tritium) front for it & swapped out the black one. Absolutely love that combo. Other than that & Agrip, it's stock & stayin' that way. :)

Enjoy! ^c

Has anyone heard of any of the G21s failing due to some problem with part of the frame structure? Specifically those with serial numbers starting with "E"? I heard this story at a local gun range recently from a guy who owns a G21, he apparently had one and had to have Glock replace the frame (according to him). The G21 I bought last August has a serial number starting with "E". I have been shooting it and love it, my two sons love shooting it (ages 13 and 11), we have fed it all kinds of stuff and it just keeps shooting with 100% reliability.

Dennis,

Call Glock at 770-432-1202, and give them your serial number. They will tell you if your Glock is affected by the recall issue.

I have an E-series G21 (EUZ XXX) I never had a problem with the original frame. After about a year, the recall came out, and they sent me the new one. It's about 3 years old now and hasn't missed a beat. Plus for free, I have all the lower frame components for spare parts.;c

Thanks for the info guys. I will call them. So did you send just the frame or the whole thing?

Actually I stripped all of the parts off of the receiver and cut up the old frame.

I went to the sticky posted regarding this, found the dialog very helpful. I called the Glock number provided, got a live person on the line on the first try, gave her the serial number of my G21, took about 2 minutes to find out my G21 is not one of those needing the frame "upgrade". The person I talked to was cooperative and helpful. Thanks to all of you for the helpful information.:)
