View Full Version : 20# Spring - Good/Bad Idea?
I've got a 20# spring from a G23 and was considering trying it out on the G19.
Anybody see a problem with this?
I don't have any experience with a 20#. However, I'm sure Glock tried it before deciding on an 18#.;c

I'd stick with the factory spring if it's a carry gun. Just my .02 cents worth.
If you are simpy shooting factory velocity loads then the stock spring should be no problem.
If you are trying to reduce felt recoil or if your factory spring as more than 5,000 rounds or so, go ahead and make the move, you can always take it out, right. ;)
Good Luck! :)

It will cause malfunctions if you don't have a rock solid grip. Not necessary.

My trigger pull is 10.5# (LEO), and if you shoot 100 rounds or so with that one, your finger will BEG you not to go to 20#. :)
Put about 150 rounds through it today, real pleasant.
This is actually my second 19. I've been shooting Glocks for 12 years, but that's mostly been with the 23 (in which I'd use a 20# spring). I just had the spring/rod laying around was curious to know if others use a 20#.
I agree that if I were to use mouse fart loads, I may run into some problems, but I don't reload 9mm (just can't justify the time vs. cost of factory ammo). Ran some WWB, PMC and Independence today and shot great with all three.
Noticed that my split times were a little faster as well.;)
