Just a quick question...

What would be a good price on a Good condition P22? I am looking to make that my next purchase and have seen the prices all over for anything from Good to New.

I am looking to use it for a cheap plinker. Something to help my shooting posture and such. I am thinking I'd want the 3.4 inch barrel to have a similar size and feel to my P99. Is that a wrong assumption?

My other option is to plop the 300 or so I'd spend on the P22 and buy ammo.

Any thoughts or suggestions

I see new P22's sell for $250-300 most of the time. I'd reccomend just buying a new one. There is a chance that the person who sold it had problems with it.

I'd agree with Ryan. Buy a new one if you can. The 3 1/2 inch barrel model is the cheaper of the two, and you can avoid messing around with the barrel weight (little screws to strip, front sight to move -eesh.)
It's not exactly the same as a 99 - it's hammer fired. It is, however, very similar in grip angle.
They are fun guns - even the people who complain about them enjoy shooting them.
My wife uses mine at the range and enjoys it. I find I'm a little more accurate with my G26.
YMMV.

$239 at sportsman's warehouse (reno,nv) -- best price that i've ever seen for new.

I got both barrels used with all papers and 2 mags at a gun show for 200 cash. Works great with proper ammo.
