Fungunner 03-24-2005, 16:05 Walther R99 La Chasse Notes: Actually manufactured in Smith & Wesson’s plant in Massachusetts for Walther, the La Chasse is a revolver designed for self-defense. The frame, cylinder, and barrel are of steel, but the grip is made from polymer, and (when bought from Walther) the La Chasse comes with several adapter pieces for the grip to allow it to fit better in different-sized hands. I think the design, if manufactured at all, is/was for the European market. Fungunner 03-24-2005, 16:48 The 'pictures' (http://www.kaliber.hu/kaliber/47/cikk47.html) shown in this foreign article displays what looks like a S&W M19, outfitted with grips that resemble the P99 material. The article makes mention of the M19 also. RyanSBHF 03-24-2005, 17:18 What caliber is it? Fungunner 03-25-2005, 04:16 Originally posted by RyanSBHF What caliber is it? .38/.357 From what I have read, stirred up by the initial post, the idea for the gun was for the European market as a side arm for hunters. I found that to be of interest, as I had recently purchased a S&W M60, labeled as "Small Hunter" in the same position and script one would normally see "Lady Smith" in. The dealer I bought it from said it too was intended for the European market. The barrel has been Magna-ported and it has multiple proof marks stamped on it. EL Uno 03-25-2005, 16:22 The first time I saw it was on Earls Repair Service site. He had one for sale. That was like a year or more ago. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2010, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
