Well I have been wanting to work on my M48 for a bit now and tonight I went ahead and started. I tore it all down and even removed the trigger. I spent considerable time polishing all the tool marks off the contact areas. I then polished with a felt wheel. I mean everything that has anything to do with the trigger the whole trigger and mount piece. BE VERY CAREFUL!!! Take too much and your screwed. Trust me I did, but it worked out. What I actually have now it a 2 stage trigger with very little creep. it actuall almost feels like a set trigger because once you pass the 1st stage it pauses and holds there until another 1-2# is applied to fire. I love it, I also polished as much of the bolt rails as possible and that mokes a HUGE difference too. I had tons of cross tool marks and could feel them in the bolt as it cycled. those a 99% gone now.
Overall I am extremely happy. Can't wait to get it to the range.
Next projects:
Different stock, May stay with a military but I want to grind down the grip area. Really want a thumbhole though, But it's all about the $$$
New sights, Maybe MOJO or???
