I just bought a new PM9 Friday, brought it home and gave it a good cleaning and lube per the manual. I have not shot the gun yet. Upon reassembly the slide lock won't work. I cannot manually lock the slide back. I've tried with and without the magazine inserted. The slide will cycle, although it's tight, but it's like the slide lock is not catching in the notch on the slide and will not hold the slide back. I've disassembled/reassembled the gun several times following the instructions in the owners manual thinking that maybe I missed something, but still it won't work. As far as I can tell nothing is missing or broken. This is my first Kahr, I have several other autos and have never experienced this problem. If anyone else has had this problem, please post what you did.
Thanks
MtnDewd

P.S. Left Dorothy at Kahr a message about this problem this morning, hopefully they'll respond.

MtnDewd,

It's been a while since I shot my Kahr's but I think the slide stop pin not in the proper location. It might be behind the lug or something like that. Field strip it again and re-investigate. I's sure this has happened to me also. It's just been a long while since I shot mine. Let me look at mine tonight and will get back to you on this issue.

Thanks for your reply Mail Clerk. I'll double check position of slide stop pin, but I think that it's in the right position in relation to the barrel lug since the slide can be manually cycled without jamming or getting hung.
Please take a look at your Kahr's and get back with me.

Thanks again,
MtnDewd

Hey Mail Clerk,
Right after my last post, Dorothy (aka Dottie) from Kahr called me back and after we talked, she decided that it would be best if I sent it back to them, so I didn't bother to check the position of the slide stop again. I had already checked it several times anyhow. I'm reserving final judgement until I get the working gun back...but, so far I'm pretty impressed with Kahr's service. I just contacted them this morning before leaving for work. Dorothy called me back about 5:30 this evening, and they are sending Fedex tomorrow to pick up the gun at their expense. I'll keep you posted on what happens. I would still appreciate your input on the problem.
Thanks,
MtnDewd

MtnDewd,

That's good that Kahr is doing that service for you. Unfortunately for me I'm still at work slaving away and can barely respond back. I should be outta here soon so by that time I'll be home about 11pm. That's California time. Mannn am I ripped. Good luck to ya.

A brief recap: I called Kahr on Monday morning before I left for work. Dorothy (aka Dottie) called me back a little after 5:00 pm Monday evening. I explained the problem to her, and she had FedEx pick it up(at Kahr's expense) the next day and take it back to the factory for repair. Kahr received it that Wednesday, and by Thursday of the next week FedEx was trying to deliver it back to me. The service ticket in the box said that they had replaced the slide lock spring, slide lock, and recoil spring. I shot it for the first time yesterday and I am impressed! The little PM9 is everything I'd hoped it would be- it shoots great! It's very discouraging when you have problems with a gun right out of the box. I began to have some doubts about buying a Kahr. I own other autos and have never had a problem with them. Kahr's customer service restored my faith. Hats off to Dottie and the rest of the crew at Kahr.
