G23 magazines

I am purchasing a G19. I have 5 G23 magazines. Does anyone know if I can convert the G23 magazine to use 9mm??? If so what would I have to replace in the magazine????????

Well, follower and the magazine body would do it (the feed lips are spaced differently on the 9mm and .40). I know that isn't the answer you wanted to hear, so here's another one; some folks found they could use 10 round G23 mags in their G19s during the Clinton ban--and get more than ten rounds of 9mm in them. Some folks reported bending the feed lips a bit as 9mm rounds tended to "escape" otherwise. I seem to recall some folks said they didn't need to do this. I tried it, found I had to bend the lips, and was never comfortable with using the mag.

If you try any of this, I'd STRONGLY recommend using the G23 mags for range shooting only, never for defense. Also, I'd suggest marking the mags in some way so nobody accidentally loads up a G23 or G27 with 9mm!

Better, try to sell the mags to someone who has a G23 and use the proceeds to buy some G19 mags.
