Hi guys!

Which spare parts you should keep in stock to keep the gun in service? What springs/other parts? I know that locking block could be a weak part if it's old type.

I tried searching the net, but couldn't find much. If you have some links, please let me know.

www.gunsprings.com for all Beretta springs

www.langdontactical.com the Beretta guru and gunsmith.

www.brignoliarmi.com Beretta parts source from Italy

www.italianpistols.com

I've had positive dealings with all that is listed save the last one (I've yet to try italianpistols.com, I mean). Parts I'd keep in handy though I haven't experienced any failure yet are the locking block (new style), trigger spring (I replaced mine with Wolff's INS unit), trigger bar spring, and firing pin.

I've been shooting my 92G E2 in competition for 3 years and I don't keep any spare parts around.

I bought my 92F in July of 1987 and the only "parts" I have replaced are the magazine springs.

I've heard that too, but I haven't had any problems with mine. I have a little over 6000 rounds through my 92fs Vertec, and have had no problems. I always inspect the locking block when I field strip it. So far so good, but who knows what the future will bring.

I've also heard that the trigger return springs can fail. I replaced mine with a Wolff reduced power "INS" trigger return unit when I first got the pistol, so I can't comment on the durability of the factory spring. I've been very pleased with my set-up. It doesn't reduce the weight of the trigger pull much, but it eliminated all stacking for a better quality trigger pull and is a stronger system.

In addition to the Wolff trigger unit, I switched to a "D model" mainspring. It was well worth the $5.00 I spent on it. Trigger pull dropped dramatically, and I've had no problems with it at all. The other thing I did was to snip a few coils off of the firing pin block spring. It is greatly oversprung, and leads to some stacking at the very end of the trigger pull. Clipping this spring makes a noticable difference at the end of the pull. It is not something to be taken lightly though. If you were to clip off too much, it would deactivate the safety. Be very careful if you try this.

I carry my Vertec at work every day, and I've beat the crap out of it. I've put 1600 rounds through it in a four day class, and the thing just keeps on gobbling up ammo with no problems. I've fired in it really hot and dry weather, and in weather that's well below freezing. No problems after 6000+ rounds.

I can understand why military guys who are stuck with fmj ammo hate the Beretta's for their lack of stopping power, but there's nothing wrong with the guns.

Landon Tactical shut down this past week. He got a job at Smith & Wesson as the law enforcement liason. Sorry to see him go.

CDNN currently has a spare parts kit for $29.99. I think the parts are taken off of used guns, but I am not sure. It includes quite a few parts.

Yes.....a definite loss to us Beretta fans....you never know...he might come back to us.....in the interim, I'm (not-so) secretly hoping he starts doing S&W custom work....my 1066 shakes in eager hope that he does!
