What beretta's are made that are DAO ? What about DA/SA only?

I'm assuming you're asking about the Beretta 92 series.

The standard 92FS is a DA/SA, the 92G I believe is the DAO.

F.Dillinger, Thanks for your reply.

My reason for asking is I was unaware that a DAO beretta existed until it was brought up by a friend that he owned one. The only ones I myself have ever dealt with were the M9 I qualified with in the Navy and the 96 I currently have. Both of which are DA/SA weapons.
I thought he may had been mistaken that a 92 was a DAO and not a DA/SA as I had thought. So it would seem they can be either, Depending on which model you buy. Just goes to show you learn something new every day.

A Beretta 92, 96 and/or Cougar using a "D" suffix is DAO, e.g.: 92D, 96D, 8045D. They have no safety and/or decocking levers.

The same guns with a "G" suffix are traditional DA/SA (TDA) guns of which the slide mounted lever only operates as a decocking lever since it's spring mounted to snap back into firing position after it is pushed down to decock the gun.

The same guns using an "F" or "FS" suffix are TDA guns with the slide mounted lever acting as both a safety and a decocking lever.

Any gun with "Type F" (e.g., 9000S Type F; Px4 Storm Type F) is a TDA gun with a safety; the "Type D" guns are DAO with no safety.

What he said! :)

I am packing a Beretta 92D Centurion as I type and am issued one for work. It truly is the best DAO on the market of the original type with double strike capability. The newer models such as the SIG DAK have a lighter DAO stroke but the second strike is harder.

DAO guns have bee the hot topic in LE weapons and most of the agencies that went with Beretta pistols have converted to the D model. The Florida Highway Patrol and Maryland State Police come to mind as examples.

Many still prefer the TDA and by far civilian sales are strong in that area. Most of the DAO guns by Beretta are now sold to LE agencies on special order basis. It was not popular with the gun buying public.

I like mine and prefer it to the TDA.
