Perhaps this link could be placed on a sticky.

Dr Ken Lunde is a Glocktalk member. Here is a link to his excellent P99 FAQ page. I hope he doesn't mind my placing it here.

Interesting. I noticed he reccomends using 124 grain & heavier bullets for the first 500 rounds. I never heard that before & I personally have used only 115 grain FMJ's so far and haven't have any FTF, FTF or any other mechanical problem. Has anyone else here?

I was told the same thing when I had a couple of FTE on my Sig P228. The theory is that the stronger charge helps get things "borken in" and remove any little burrs or friction spots that might cause a weaker charge to hang up and fail to return the slide to battery. I ran 124 FMJ for the next few hundred rounds, then went back to 115 gr. I haven't had any problems, 2000+ rounds later.

Personally, I don't think it was the gun...it was the ammo. I was using Remington UMC and frankly it stunk. I've put over 6000+ rounds of WWB 115gr FMJ through all of my pistols and have never had a single FTF or FTE.
