Are these any good? Are they durable, rigid?

Looks pretty decent, so I'm thinking about ordering one anyway.

Yeah I'm holding. I'm trying to get Michigun to sell me his AK-74 stock ;f

BTW, Michigun if you read this CLEAN OUT YOUR FRIGGIN PM BOXES!! ;f
I put a T6 on my Bushmaster, it works fine, durable and strong and is $40 less than Bushmaster. I know this is the AK forum, but it's the same stock.

Isnt the recoil spring tube on the AR stock metal rather than polymer though?

I got my Tapco T6 today, very solid stock, I'm impressed. Rather than trimming it to fit my thicker reciever I just gave it a good whack to drive it in, its in there as solid as can be now. Here's a pic of my rifle with the stock and a recently purchased, yet already broken Aimpoint clone.

I'm really liking this stock.

You all should be ashamed of your selves...AR parts on a AK...that just isnt right. Go buy an AR if you really must but for gods sake leave those AKs alone.

Oh man, this is what make this country so great,we can do what we want as long as not breaking the law, i have a M16 A2 pistol grip for my mak-90 and it really makes a different.
I have almost finished "Blackening" my WASR-10. The only thing left is to mount my RedDot optics and SAWS grip.
I don't think there is anything wrong with updating any rifle. It's not like these AK's are some kind of collectible.
chevrofreak;
I finally got my Tapco CAR stock and Tapco front handgrip intalled. I put it off until today so that I could tear the AK down completely and once and for all get all the cosmoline out of it. I used 2 cans of brake cleaner and then oiled it up with WalterGA's Mobile 1. It looks great and everything runs smooth as glass.
Highly recommended.

It really is a great stock isnt it? :)
The one thing I dislike is the slope it has, but the original AK stocks had that slope to it as well. A nice straight stock that was level with the top of the receiver would look better.

BTW, most recent pic of the gun.

Chev,
That is exactly what I want to do to my new AK. Can you clue me in as to all the parts (other than the T6) and where they came from?

I got the T6 from Gunbroker quite a bit cheaper than from Tapco (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=32336891)
The pistol grip is one of these http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=123&t=237163 that I misted with Duplicolor truckbed lining
The mount is an UltiMAK M2-B which is meant for the chinese rifles that have holes in the gas tube. www.ultimak.com
The sight is a Hakko Tacpoint 1, with a B-Square 30mm low ring. I got the sight on gunsamerica.com from globeprec@sbcglobal.net for under $90 shipped
The forend is a Choate purchased from UltiMAK
The flip up caps on the sight are a Butler Creek 07 and 02a, but the 05 may fit better than the 07.
The safety I modded myself. http://glocktalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=380406

I really don't see the point of putting a collapsible stock on an AK. They did it on the M16 because they had no choice. That collapsible design will never be as strong as a one-piece side-folder or underfolder.
BTW, Chevrofreak, the Hakko already broke on you? I thought that it's suppose to be good stuff?!!
chevrofreak

No, the Hakko hasn't broken yet. The power knob is slightly wobbly but I tried tearing it off and it wont budge. The one I had before the hakko didnt even survive long enough to actually have the gun fire with it on ;Q
Turning the windage adjustment broke something loose inside and the power knob fell completely out in my hand the next time I turned it. The body of that one was rock solid and probably twice as heavy as the Hakko, but the 5 year old they had putting it together didn't do a very good job with the wiring....

It's really too bad, as sturdy as the body was, with decent guts it could have actually rivaled Aimpoint methinks.

Added something new to the T6 stock.

Just need to figure out how to build a comfortable sling to use with it.
