I've always liked the looks of most Beretta's but when I saw the Elite series I knew I would end up with one eventually. I traded a Taurus PT92 earlier this week for a 96 Elite 1A. I was very close to buying a 92 Elite II last month. I've read alot about Beretta's since buying my Elite.
I was wondering how others like theirs, 1A or II. I love the way mine looks. Wish it had the Novaks sights like the II. I'm a little disapointed in the trigger pull stock, I'm ordering a 16lb hammer spring this weekend. Finally, this was my first .40 gun, I can't believe hicap is only 11 rounds. Glock goes from 17 to 15 in their full size gun, Beretta goes from 15 to 11 :(
Lets here your thoughts, Max

The GLOCK with its polymer frame and no need for grip panals has a lot more room for a fatter magazine. Most double stack magazine pouches will not fit GLOCK magazines without a lot of expansion.
The SIG brand will carry 12 rounds in their .40 models and the Beretta will also if the use the Mec-Gar brand magazines. Most Beretta cognoscenti consider the Mec-Gar to be as good as Factory when it comes to Beretta magazines. During the original contract for the M9 Beretta pistol, Beretta Italy contracted with Mec-Gar to produce 1 million M9 magazines under the Beretta name. They are good stuff.
Just for your information though...Other than the original military contract, Mec-Gar does not make magazines under the Beretta name for Beretta pistols. Beretta has a wholly owned subsidiary called MDS (Meccanica Del Sarca)that manufactures Beretta OEM magazines as well as magazines for other brands. Fine Gun stocks are another aspect of MDS.

I found LEO 11 round mags at CDNN for $13. I'm going to pick a bunch of those up. Thans for the link though, great expanded view of gun.

Thats pretty much what I was thinking.
The other thing I don't understand is I've seen reviews and pics in magazines of the Elite and Elite II, but hardly anything about the 1A. Is that because the 1A has the Vertec frame?
