View Full Version : New P99 Owner Question
I bought a P99QA for a carry pistol. I normally carry IWB and am looking at a Sidearmor. Anyone have experience w/ this holster? I have always carried in leather so this will be my first kydex IWB.
Thanks.

I haven't tried Sidearmor. I just got a CompTac C-T.A.C. IWB holster for my P99 AS. The fit/retention is outstanding and it's very comfortable to wear. Customer service was exceptional...less than 48 hours from ordering to having it in my hand.

I use the Milt Sparks Vera Max 2 IWB.........Easy to put on and being horse hide wears like steel. Just a tad on the expensive side, but I also have one for my P-12, and am going to get one for my Glock 20. I havent heard anything bad about sidearmor, but kydex seem to be too noisy when drawing the weapon.
good luck with your choice.

I had 2 VMII for my 1911's and loved them; sooo comfortable. I was looking at a kydex more for a change of pace. I called Sidearmor and they have a six week waiting list; the Comp-tac has quicker service...

Like I said, the retention on my C-T.A.C. is perfect -- nothing like the overly tight fit of a Fobus holster. I'm not quite sure I understand darkangel's objection to the "noise" of Kydex...if it's my carry pistol and I have to pull it, then I'm about to fire it -- and that will make plenty of noise! I could see if I were a LEO and had to do it covertly, but for most of us that's an invitation to disaster.
My only problem is deciding if my next C-T.A.C. is going to be for my Sig or my Steyr.....
