View Full Version : New To Me 92FSC
After many years thinking about it I picked up my first Beretta today. It's not anything special but a slightly used 92FSC that was calling my name through the glass of my local shop. The owner and I go back so we BS each other about how he could sale it at taged price and how I wanted a GLOCK anyhow. That lasted for about 5 minutes and he gave me a sweet deal so I would leave his dam shop. The range will need to wait until this weekend but in the mean time I am already scrounging for more mags then I will ever need. As an X GI I know mil-spec stuff is good and have no fears about using GI mags. The only problem is I was carrying a 1911 when I was in and never go to fondle the M9. Are there any GI mags I need to be aware of that are prone to poblems?

Avoid any Checkmate mags (the crappy ones in Iraq).
Beretta or Mec-Gar (Factory OEM) mags are good.
Fieldstripping is easy.

Compact.
Well, I guess since mine is a Centurion that is why there is a "C" in the designator?
If your "92FSC" has a 13 round capacity, its a "Compact".
If your "92FSC" has a 8 round capacity, its a "Compact Type M".
The Compacts (13 and 8 round guns) and Centurions all share the same slide and barrel length but are marked as "Compact" or "Centurion". Mallcop, where is "92FSC" marked on your gun?
9mm Centurions (92FS, 92D, 92G) have 15 round capacities.
