View Full Version : Any Thoughts on 3.5# Connector?
I just got a G19 this week and am considering replacing the stock connector (5#?) w/ a 3.5#...does it make a positive difference? I read it tops out at 4#'s which is what I'm used to with shooting 1911's. Also, I see some sites sell the complete trigger assembly w/ the 3.5# connector, any advantage to going that route? Thanks.
It makes it feel like a whole new gun. I have one in my G34 (stock) and like it so much I'll be getting one for my 19 here shortly.
I have one in combination with a NY1 (Olive) trigger spring. IMHO, it rules. Everyone that I have talked into trying it has kept that setup.
Other than good sights for your Glock the 3.5# connector is the best thing you can do to it. I've done it to all my Glocks other than the 26's. The 34 comes with the 3.5# connector and after shooting that gun everything else feels heavy. I find with the lighter trigger the group size definetely gets better.
I'm in the market for a 27 for carry, and hear of a lot about the 3.5 connector. I've fired 19 and 21 with the stock trigger, and wouldn't mind trying it.
However, is it really safe to install in a daily carry gun?
In the data I've read, the 3.5# connector results in a trigger pull begining at 3.5#'s and breaking at 4#'s. This is comprable to a 1911 which are usually shipped at 4#'s. Competition trigger pulls would be in the range of 2-2.5#'s

If you keep your finger OFF the trigger until you are ready to fire, why would it NOT be safe?

Yes, like gary said, keep the finger off the trigger until you're ready to pull.
To those who are inexperienced with a Glock, I would suggest sticking to the 5.5lb connector until you feel the need to swap it out with the lighter one - Basically shoot it stock for awhile.
And no, there's no slight advantage to buying a preassembled kit unless you need spare parts. Like WalterGA said, even a witless DemocRAT could install a connector.
