The more I thought about it, I decided to get the "Stainless PX9151L 45 ACP Loaded Pistol" instead of the "TRP" model. Like I said in one of my other threads, this is my first 1911. The "Loaded Pistol" just seemed like the right one to get for my first 1911!
I went to Gander Mountain yesterday morning with my father. He bought a new Smith & Wesson model 60. Its a stainless steel small frame 5 shot 357 Mag with a three inch barrel. I was looking at the "Loaded Pistol" when we were there. My wife and I went back there last night and I put the 1911 on layaway. I'll pick it up in a week or so!

Congrats on the nice purchase. That exact gun is my next acquisition as well. Would love to know what you picked it up for, if you don't mind me asking. Look forward to hearing the range report!
Nice choice! I just picked up the same pistol about a month ago. The pistol was flawless right outa the box with all kinds of ammo; FMJ, Silvertips, Golden Sabers. Mine is dead accurate. You will love the pistol. I bought a Milt Sparks VM II for it and carry it everyday now. Despite the weight, this combo is more comfortable/concealable than carrying my G23 in Sidearmor! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't carry a full size SS 1911 effectivley! One word of caution, be careful when reassembling after field stripping. While lining up the slide stop lever into the frame, I couldn't get the lever to depress into the frame all the way because of the plunger. I ended up making a nice scratch on the slide and frame! Now I just use a jewelers screwdriver to depress the plunger and insert the slide stop.
Enjoy!

JCA, I paid $699 plus tax (8.25%:( ), the total was $756.66!
PatinAz, I'm not sure which holster I'm going to get. I carry my Glock 22 in a "Galco Fletch High Ride Holster" and really like it. But if I understand Galco's web sight correctly, they don't make any holsters with the "safety straps" that are made for "Cocked and Locked", "Condition 1" carry, which is the way I intend to carry pistol! I really like the "safety straps" on my holsters. I guess I'll have to look around and try to find something else. Thanks for the information on field stripping. This will be my first 1911 so I'm not to familiar with them yet!
I just noticed that both of you are from Arizona! My wife lived in Tucson when she was younger (3-13yrs old). We would like to move to Flagstaff someday. I won't be moving anywhere as long as the plant I work in stays open, which it looks like it will.....hopefully for a while :)! One of these days we'll get out there!

Same thing happened to me. ^2 Mine kept on jamming the first 500 rounds or so, but now it works fine, and its scary how accurate it is.
