Anyone have one? I really like the feel of these but why the heck are they so expensive??? Are they worth it or has Beretta over estimated what the public will pay? I would consider one of these but they have to come down a few $$$.

If you do have one - pls let us know how it handles and your impressions. Holding one, you can tell they are well built and made to last plus the finish on these are beautifull.

I shot one of these at the Beretta Day in Bristol PA last Dec.
It was really, really, really nice.
The frame is steel, not alloy, so the added weight helps reduce felt recoil and it feels so easy to get the second, third, etc shots off.
The grip is the vertec grip, and while I like the standard grip, this was very comfortable and I barely noticed the difference.
The trigger is not standard and seemed smooth and light.
There are SA only and DS/SA versions out there. I can't recall which I shot, but for a dedicated target gun I wouldn't have a problem with SA only. I guess if you want to compete in some of the organization shoots, it makes a difference which.
Safety is frame mounted (vs. traditional slide mounted)
Lastly I think the finish is nickle alloy plating - and i'm a sucker for nickle plating.

Overall the price difference is a result of: steel frame, trigger work, and nickle finish. Is it worth it? Depends on what YOU value in a gun.

Thanks - I appreciate your input - the only thing I can say back to Beretta is that Sig seems to offer their pistols in an all steel format for less than $1000. ;)

But Sig took their existing gun and made it Steel. The Steel I is a different entity and has no alloy counter part. Plus it is more customized, especially in the trigger. Not only is it much lighter and smoother, but is internally adjustable for both over travel and trigger reset.
