I just got back from a trip and my new 92G Vertec was waiting at the dealer for me. It's a great pistol -- complete with accessory rail and Trijicon night sights. Best of all, as a G-model, it doesn't have that infernal safety on it!

I fitted it this evening with some Hogue wrap-around grips. It takes a little trimming to get them to fit the Vertec style grip and the back of the grip doesn't look completely "finished" like it would on a standard grip model. But for $20 (vice the $50 Hogue/Beretta charge for Vertec grips!) it's worth it!

I put some pics on my website, here: http://users.adelphia.net/~navy87guy/beretta92g.html Hopefully I'll get to the range tomorrow and give her a good work out!

Did you get it from Brad Taylor?

Yes, I bought if from Brad through the Beretta Forum. Pretty good deal... $479 delivered. I would really have liked a 92G-SD with the Brigadier slide and the standard style grip -- but it's hard to justify the $300 price difference (although Brad has the best prices on SD's around, too). The 92G Vertec had everything else I wanted and with the Hogue grips installed, it feels very nice. Hopefully I'll take my wife to range today for Mother's Day...so she can shoot her Ruger P93.

My Vertec (also a "Brad Taylor Special") will be nicely accessorized with a Beretta .22LR conversion kit....also courtesy of Brad.

I've been firing my Berettas as much as my Steyr's lately; I've started carrying my 92FC again (it's been months since I've done that...due to my love for my Steyr S40.)

Enjoy the Vertec Navy! It's a really nice gun!
