From my earlier posts you guys have already gathered I'm a little quick at the trigger on gun purchases (no pun intended). I thought the SW and walther were one and the same, but of course I was wrong. I like the Walther design and reputation better so I went back to my gun shop and asked if I could exchange the Smith for a Walther P99 AS with standard capacity mags.
I purchase alot of guns from this guy so naturally he said sure. The Walther had to be ordered and he said I was lucky to find one since the AS trigger type has been dicontinued. The bad news is the Walther will end up costing me 600 bucks, were the Smith was 530. Oh well, life is to short not to get what you want. I'll post later with a range report.

The AS trigger is the greatest thing in striker fired scince sliced bread. Your gonna love it.

My P99 is a tack driver and a joy to shoot.

I can never remember the different trigger options. Does someone have a link to the chart that showed the different trigger setups and the force required at each 'distance'/pull?

Go to www.thegunsource.com that will explain the different types and even show a chart.

It's on the Walther America P99 page, here: http://www.waltheramerica.com/p99_specs.htm

You'll see that the AS has three different pulls and the QA only has one. Personally, the longer, harder DA for the first pull doesn't bother me. I really like the 5 lb pull for the SA shots...very smooth and very comfortable. I rarely (if ever) notice the difference in trigger travel between the first SA shot (in blue on the chart) and the rest (in green).

I love my P99 to death!!

Is this true??? I love my `03 P99 w/ the AS system; it is the perfect blending of a Sig and a Glock. I hope they haven't gotten rid of it:( .

Walther still offers it, S&W (Walther usa) won't import it.

Earl of Earl's repair still imports the AS. Expect to pay a lot more from Earl.
