I am thinking of installing a MBC ( manual boost control) and putting about 8.5 psi ( 8 - 10 HP / 1psi) . I know that it can wreck my engine, currently I have put about 6.5-8 lbs of boost with no problems. Factory settings are 7.5-8 psi, but not all were calibrated.
Engine is stock, but stock engines handle about 12.5-13.8 psi without shut off valve engaging, so I would be well with in the limit and not exceed it .
My turbo is a mistu TD04 and can put out up to 30psi, although that will definately blow your headgasket, as tested by someone else.
I do plan to have a 3 inch cat back with a turbo muffler installed and have found one for about 350.

I would do it, BUT, also have it dyno tuned make sure your Aif Fuel ratio is okay and add one of these http://www.snowperformance.net/
Better safe then sorry.
what car is this?
Exactly what streeter69 said, do it on a dyno, its really not that expensive.

Why do you want us to convince you not to have more fun with your car?

2 things I'll never talk people out of.
1.making their cars faster or more enjoyable.
2.buying more guns.

Gee guess you guys talked me into it . ;f
Nice thing about turbo's with boost controllers is, you can always dial down the boost and drive like normal. Then push a button or turn a knob and have fun.;f

I upped my boost via the wastegate rod to 9lbs swoosh. Acutally the guy that showed me how to do it, had the baddest sounding 4banger ever. Thing sounded like a V8, no joke. ;P
We took it for a drive, all you hear is exhaust then " Psssshhhh" of the CBV venting. I don't think he went over 3k rpm's and we were passing traffic as if they were at a standstill.
2 weeks and I do a 3" turbo down pipe to my 2.5" cat and muffler. ( stock)
