I've gotten about 20 spam emails, linking to german websites, this weekend. Anyone else getting these as well? I tend to agree with the messages, as much as I can decipher them, but I'm not sure how they expected spamming US email addresses was going to help their cause.

I've gotten three of them. I just delete them, un-opened, since I don't know the sender nor do I speak/read German,

My only guess is that some stooge that has my email addy in their address book got the virus associated with this problem, and now I'm getting slammed. Another 30 of these link spam emails since I posted last, I'm surprised gmail hasn't done something to stem the tide.

I ran all the tests I know of, and I'm clean.

I used the "Language Tools" feature on google to have the messages translated. I wish they would just put out an english language version of their messages.

I work for the government and my department has been getting slammed with them lately. Average 200 per day per user for some folks. I haven't seen any...yet.

yep - new form of spam 'propaganda spam' - a worm released to turn machines into spam-spewing machines, but they don't want you to buy anything, just to read their ultra-rightist diatribes.

But only if you read German.

I don't know what they are saying, but I'm getting about 70 a day. One of the subject lines is 'The Whore Lived Like a German' - I don't open them so I don't know for sure, but there is some talk that the email carries an attachment with a virus.

JCM298 hit the nail on the head. Delete them unopened.

I use E-prompter to screen my mail and I've gotten four in Latin as of today. I just delete them because I don't want to try to translate them. Six years of Latin in high school and college was enough,
