Dang armybass, I need to come hang out with you!!! Nice basses.
My bass rig is a GK400RBIII bass head, Peavey 2x15 cab (plus a couple of single 1 x15 cabs, all loaded w/Peavey BlackWidow speakers). For basses I have a few (Peaveys, Hamers, Strings & Things customs), but when we play out I mostly use some custom Peavey basses...they are the old Peavey Foundation S basses that have had EMG's installed, Quan Badass bridges installed, and hipshot D-tuners installed.
For effects, I use a Yamaha Nathan East Parametric EQ, and a DigiTech Bass Squeeze compressor...oh and I also use a Boss footpedal tuner.
That, plus Monster cable make up the rig.
I used to play Yamaha basses, but I keep going back to the old Peaveys for the tone. I was a dept. manager at a MARS music store for a year, and I never found a bass that played better or sounded better than my 'amped-up' Peaveys. So I stick with them.
My band is working pretty steady, and we play dance/rock with a touch of Guns and Roses thrown in for the heavier rockers. That bass rig works well for what we do.

Yo String,

How do you like your acoustasonic Jr.? I've been looking at it, seems like a decent little cafe gig amp. How do the vocals come out on that? How does that do vs running through a board for small gigs?

Thanks In Advance:cool:

Hobear,

I got that amp for my oldest son to use and I really have not had much time on it. Like most fender amps it sounds fairly good. The various digital sound are not quite as natural as I would like, but it does have some cool effects and a pretty good selection of various reverbs. My son used it for a school talent show, and practiced some using a shure sm57 mike through the second channel (not a great vocal mike but the only one I had at home) at it sounded fairly decent. It was fairly easy to get a good mix between his vocal and his taylor 110.

I did use it at a church retreat we had with songwriter Brad Russell. Myself and Brad used it and we ran an outline to the board from the amps XLR out line. It had a fairly good sound going to the board, but I did not like the fact that I could not shut off the internal speaker when using the XLR out line.

Overall, I think it is a fairly decent amp for the money. It is solid and well made so it should hold up to what I wanted it for.

I threw down and bought the acoustasomic jr. DSP. I like it primarily b/c cause it's (IMO) the best balance between price, features and quality. The effects are nothing really special. While a chorus effect really lends itself to acoustic guitar, you can't really shape it on the inboard effect. I'll be using my own chorus pedal. The delay and reverb settings are limited as well, but it'll do. I have my own digital delay pedal if I need to go to "11";f I really like that there's an XLR input for a mic as well as an XLR out. The internal speaker staying on is ok with me, it can function as a monitor if I'm running out to a board. I'm running a Shure Beta 58A mic through it and it sounds fine to me. My Taylor 314ce sounds great through this amp. I would've liked an overall master volume for both channels as well as for each channel, but again I think this is the best overall compromise for what I want to do with it. For cafe gigs I think this rig is hard to beat in this price range.

Hey Hobear,

That cool, I hope you enjoy it. I actully played one of my 614ce's through a boss compressor pedal (cs-3) and into the fender acoustisonic yesterday for a wedding thing (buddy from college). He wanted us to do (eagles - I cant tell you why). It sound fairly good, in the lounge they rented for the wedding. It was a fairly large room, and I did not need to mike it. In fact my buddy tried to buy it from me. I told him to order his own.

Sweet looking rig. I played SG,s for years, loved them. I am thinking of getting an SG supreme before long. A buddy of mine has one in the dark green (emerald burst) and it looks and sounds great. He wants to trade for one of my tele's.

I think it's normal for that finish, silverburst Gibson Les Paul Customs do the same thing.
