I have three of these PCI-Express x1 slots on my mobo, what can I do with them?

Maybe a Firewire 800 card.Firewire 800 is almost twice as fast as USB 2.0.Not the standard Firewire(400) IEEE 1394.Firewire 800 normally requires better than standard PCI to be fully functional.I haven't tried these cards yet though.It's suppose to allow an external hard drive to operate about as fast as an internal hard drive.

The new PhysX gaming card coming out this year is supposed to be available in pci-e x1.

other than that, I think it's a waiting game. afaik, scsi and raid cards are on the horizon. sound cards are likely too.

you can run vid cards in sli mode...

I've been meaning to get a sound card, maybe I'll wait. My onboard 7.1 is OK for now.

I have that, but it uses 2 pci-e 16x physical interfaces running at 8x speed.

he's askign about hte free 1x slots on his mobo. those are the slots about an inch and a half long.
