GIMP / Color Question

Guys, please list a site that has some basic color backgrounds that I could use with GIMP. I've been tinkering with layers and colors. I'd do it myself, but I don't know how to make one.

I'd like to use different colors for layers, instead of the original in the picture. This cat would look neat with purple or blue eyes.
