Genitalmen,
I really liked the price of the Georgia Arms 165 grain +P Gold Dot ammo, but was wondering if it is "snappier" than Speer Gold Dot 165 grain ammo, since Georgia Arms is +P rated.
Any opinions?
Thanks!
There is no +P rating for .40 ammo. They can put it on the box, but the only true +P rated calibers are .38 Spl, 9 mm, and .45 ACP. They are just loaded to a higher pressure and give you more velocity so, yes, they will be snappier.
Not trying to be a jerk, I just can't stand it when ammo makers heat up their ammo a little and slap "+P" on their box as if it is supposed to make it better.

I agree. If you look at GA website, they like to put +p beside of almost everything. Their +p .40 is loaded to standard velocity, so if it is over pressure, it's not a good thing.
