Does anyone have any cures or suggestions on the pinching of the
tigger finger?? Also does the trigger that come on the 3rd Gen. 17
the smooth trigger??

I was thinking the smooth trigger could be the answer if it is a trigger other than the stock trigger on the G 17.

Thanks

The stock G17 trigger IS the "smooth" trigger. However, someone could have installed one of the nasty serrated "target" trigger on your G17. What exactly is pinching you? If it is the trigger safety, you can use fine sandpaper to reduce the trigger safety to the point where it is flush with the trigger face when depressed.

It is the trigger safety that is doing the pinching!

I had done some sanding, but not to the point you described.

Thank you very much for your input.

Gary,

I aggressively sanded down the trigger safety to the point you described. However, I noticed that the safety would back out of
the trigger when the slide was slammed forward by releasing the slide
or by slingshot closing.

My question now is there some way to prevent that from happening?

When the trigger safety comes out of the trigger an X is formed with
the trigger.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The trigger safety pretty much has to "come out"--that is, emerge from the face--of the trigger to work. When you press the trigger, the trigger safety should easily slide back into its groove. My goal is merely to have the trigger safety lie flush with the face of the trigger when depressed by my finger, rather than protruding as an irritating ridge.

Perhaps I'm not following you. Did the trigger safety not do this before you sanded?

Gary,

I believe it did before what it was doing after.

I have a temporary fix for the safety doing the x thing.

Time will tell if the fix holds. The safety still functions
as it should.

Thanks
