View Full Version : Price check on a 92 or 96 F/S INOX
I'm in Texas and the local stores are having a price war on handguns and I hope to benifit from it. What is the average price for a 92 or 96 FS INOX? I'm new to Beretta so I assume that all INOX's are stainless but if that is an incorrect assumption I will add by saying I am only interested in stainless prices.

INOX is an abbreviation of an italian word that means stainless. Inoxidable or something like that. It depends if these are standard models or Brigadier models. Brigs say "Brigadier" on the right side of the slide and the open top slide is contoured around the locking block. I think $550-600 would be a good deal for a new one.
Thanks for the clairafacation on INOX. I don't recall seeing the Brigadier markings, but I will check tonight.
What are the advantages of the Brigadier model?
Thanks

I paid 530 plus tax for my 96 Brig Inox here in Florida about 3 months ago. That was the best deal I could find. If you get the 96 (.40S&W) I recommend getting the Brig.

Advantages to the Brigadier model are:
Overall width of the slide is slightly wider = thicker metal.
Recontoured slide around ears of locking block = stronger.
Dovetailed front sight so you can change it if you like.
Disadvantages:
Wider slide = fewer holster options. Some good ones are out there, just less common.
I always recommend the Brig models, 9 or .40 cal, mainly because of the front sight.
