View Full Version : 92 FS / 92FS Brigadier / 92FS Vertec ?
well...
I originally saw the 92FS and i thought id go for that...
but these other two guns caught my eye...
what exactly are the differences between the 92FS and the Brigadier and the Vertec, and which one do you recommend?

The Brigadies slide is heavier to help reduce recoil and gives a lightly longer (0.2") sight radius. The Vertec model has a 1911-style vertical grip rather than the standard Beretta slim profile grip. It is also slightly shorter (both overall and barrel) compared to the standard FS.
The two features can be found on various versions of the standard 92FS. You can get a 92FS Vertec, a 92FS Brigadier or you can go all out and get the Elite IA with the Brigadier slide and the Vertec grip. There is also a 92G Vertec model which was a limited production, LEO-only model that you can now find after market. That's what I have -- it has all the best features in one package.
The 2005 Beretta Catalog has pictures of the various models.
Hope this helps.

The Vertec has the 1911 grip and the tac light rail. I have one and it is a great shooter. I put a "D" dao mainspring in it and lightened the trigger nicely. The Vertec front sight is also dovetailed so you can switch sights. The Vertec Elite 1A is a "G" model with all the Vertec features, heavier Brig slide, and decock only. I would have prefered the "G" in a SD pistol.
I'd recommend going to your local dealer and hold each model and see which one feels the most comfortable in your hand.
