I have a Trijicon rear night sight for my Glock 22. I bought it for 7 dollars so dont harass me about just having the back. My gun hits 4 inches high at 25 yards and about 1.5-2 feet high at 50-60 yards I was wondering what front Ameriglow front sight I should buy from http://www.topglock.com/catalog/sights.htm? They go from stock .165" to .300" I know that I need to go taller on the front sight if I want to acheive a lower POI but how tall?
Glock sights are typically adjusted (but by changing the rear) in .4mm increments yielding a change in POI of approx 2.5" @ 25 yds. Whether from front or rear, .4mm is .016" - add that to .165 and a .180 front would do the trick for that. However, you're saying it's 4" high, so you might want to go with a .200 - certainly no more. Math-wise, a .190 would be about right, but most sights seem to run .165, .180, .200, etc. I'd try the .200
Pick your poison, but hopefully that gets you in the ballpark.

That is what I needed to know. I am going to shoot several groups at 25 yards to make sure that it is only 4 inches high and then get back with you.
Thanks a bunch.

Howdy, I have a glock17, I just placed a bid on ebay for Trijicon rear night sight.
It doesnt come with a front sight, just got this glock17 for fathers day, will the factory front sight I have now work with this rear sight?
If I order a front sight from that link above, what hight should I get?
Thanks.

I would suggest you put the rear sight on and see where your POI is and order your front sight from there. Hey your ebay handle has something to do with Texas Gunman right...hah we bought the same rear sight! I am going to put the rear sight on and I assume that it is the same as the factory rear that is why I posted this whole thread but I am going to shoot it with the factory front sight and the Trijicon rear and see where it is hitting, then buy the corresponding front sight for my specific application because I see no reason to purchase a set of sights that have the POI several inches high at a given regularly shot distance why not get it right the first time? I am in the process of calling a coyote into around 50 yards where I plan to end his days with a 180 gr JHP Winchester bullet. I guess I ask a little more than most Glock users as I dont measure my distances in feet, 50 yards is easier than 150 feet I guess...

Most of the time I carry mine when we go noodling as I dont have a CCL because I am only 18, so far it has passed all of my tests except the POI is off. My gun regularly gets submerged and carried through some pretty rough conditions but has not had a FTF or FTE. I also have no abnormal wear and perform maintenance on it every time it gets wet. Now if I can get it to hit in the right spot I will be happy!

Well TexasGunman, at least we are saving 35-45 dollars off of buying a sight set. I guess sometimes it pays off to shop around and watch ebay. What was interesting about that auction is as soon as it ended the seller left me feedback, without me sending my paypal yet. I sent it a few hours after he left my feedback. Just different I thought.

I sent funds, when it first ended, it says on the ebay page my funds are pending, on my paypal account, it says transaction completed.
Just noticed he already left good feed back for me as well.
We need range report.

Just wanted to mention, that the front sight came in today mail, also the rear sight.
You guys should have your rear sight by now? the rear sight isnt all that bright compared to the new trijicon front sight.
That being said, I like it that way.
The front sight did come with a wrench to install the new front sight.
I'd used loc-tite,hope it holds it on there.;f
The Glock factory sights was easily removed, new sight went right on easy and didnt take about ten minutes.
I hope to go shooting this weeken.:soap:
