I have to decide yes or no and on which rifle by tomorrow. I will try to describe the details. I am doing a Sig pistol trade in so I will just list the price difference between the two.

Rifle #1
Bushmaster
NIB
20" BBL
Flash suppressor
Bayonet lug, ?? what for??
2 30 round mags
Collapseable stock ? dont know brand
Fixed stock
Factory case
$100 more than #2

Rifle #2
Bushmaster
Like new
16" BBL
Muzzle break? Has huge holes on the sides and 3-4 small holes in the top
No bayonet lug
2 30 round mags
Fixed stock
Collapseable stock ? dont know brand
no case or paper work
$100 less than #1

I do not own a black rifle of any kind. This would be my first. I am a shooter, reloader and hunter for 25 years mostly pistols and shotguns. I have no specific purpose for this rifle other than plinking and target fun. Just always thought one would be fun. I will also note that #2 is FTF friend and has no form or tax.
I just dont know which way to go on this. I like the idea of the flash suppressor but I also like the 16" BBL. I may not even need to buy a Bushmaster, that may be a brand to stay away from??
Please help me decide to stay away or go with #1 or #2. thanks

Forgot to add that #2 also has a China made fixed power scope of some type.
Can you send the #2 BBL and have it changed to a flash suppressor vs. its current muzzle break ????

Also both have the adjustable sights and handle made on the top, wher it cannot be removed.

I posted this on AR15, but I forgot we GT'ers had a Black Rifle section too.

Why do you have to know by tomorrow? How much for each?

Personally, I don't like either, specifically. I like Bushy's, but neither are the way I'd like.

First off, you want a 16" barrel. They are much better suited for general purpose use and more practical. But you also want a "no-ban" gun. This is what I would do if I were you...

Buy one like I recommend in this thread:

Well Mr. Licks I did read your post and it got me to wondering. The thing about is, I know very little about these kind of guns and the fellow selling happens to know quite a lot and happens to be a good friend. The post does sound good, $690 for a AR but then I don't get to trade my sig. I will do some thinking on this. I might sell my sig then put the funds into this no name AR.

People who know AR's know that Stag may not have as big of a reputation as Bushmaster, but they are every bit as good as Bushmaster or Rock River Arms. In fact, Stag is the house brand for CMT, who happens to make *most* of the parts on RRA rifles, and many other manufacturers.

They are starting to become more and more popular because people realize they are a steal... and you know what that means... the prices will increase.

I have a Stag stripped lower that I built one of my AR's on. Here it is.

The bottom AR in this pic was built on a stag lower

If you go on to AR15.com, you will see they are popular and well liked.

My brother bought one of those Stag uppers, it has been flawless for him. He loves it. I wouldn't hesistate. You will be more than pleased with this gun, and you won't have to tweek it to get it just right.

Good luck, let me know if I can help you with anything else.

Check out the Stag uppers on sale at www.aimsurplus.com .
I built my AR on a Stag upper, RRA lower,RRA two stage match trigger, and a DPMS parts kit. Money saving is good, use the money you save building one and buy ammo.

Bushmaster makes good quality rifles. But so do alot of other manufactuers. If I was to buy a complete rifle it would be a RRA.

I think I will pass on the above Bushmasters and buy me a Stag lower striped and start from there. I might as well learn as I go and I can tell I want a good trigger and etc. so I might as well fix it right from the get go. Thanks for the advice. Might as well add AR15 to my favorites.

I think you made a very good choice. You will get to customize this gun to fit your personal desires. You will be very pleased.
