Here is one of my Russian military Makarov's with a set of my hardwood grips. It is Amboyna Burl laminated on a set of original Mak grips.

Very nice, tell us about the grips. Why? Mak owners are a cult and we like good looking Maks. Regards, Richard :)

I have recently started a business selling holsters, 1911 magazines and my own TA Grips. Being a Makarov enthusiast myself, I decided to to make a few of the Mak grips too. So far, they are more labor intensive than 1911 grips because of the gluing and forming, but they do turn out nice.

If someone supplies the original Red Star grips, what do you charge to customize? How well does the glue hold up? Those look very nice!!

I actually have plenty of red star grips to make these. I haven't firmed up the price yet, but they will probably be around $75 each shipped. I use an epoxy on the grips that seems to be working well. I have another set on my carry gun that have been holding up well.
