Judge, i was informed that there will be a display of hi-power firearms during the gunshow but only government law enforcement personnel are allowed to view such items. Why is that? ;Q

sir, try powermax distributed by SEQUTECH CORP. i dont have the landline, just phone number of an agent 09179988845. i've seen the demo, looks pretty good.

kung hindi parin, try protective systems 8382543/8388040 but i think mas expensive, USD yata ang bayad sa kanila.

I don't mean to be facetious, but dogs work pretty well, and no electricity problems.

Of course, a dog plus one of these systems plus your firearm would be hard to beat.

One of my neighbors bought and installed one of those big electric schoolbells in his house. It wakes up the whole neighborhood when he turns it on - so far just a test. I swear that thing will wake up the dead. Anybody within half a kilometer will hear it. (But it's turned on manually, no automatic tripper.) I can't imagine how any intruder would stay around if he hears that bell.

Sorry for the late reply. This move is in line with the Chief PNP's directive to limit the ownership of high powered rifles to Police and Military personnel only. According to his directive, high powered firearms are not to be displayed in gun stores, including gun shows. A compromise was reached and AFAD was allowed to set aside a small space where HP firearms can be displayed given that viewing will be limited to those allowed to purchase high powered rifles, namely the police and the military.

Yes, not good. But still, if there are people willing to spend, it'll be sure as hell there are people willing to sell. The law of supply and demand overshadows that of Chief PNP's.

Eye Cutter

get a para or armscor. both are great bases for a custom pistol.

Try to see Dino ( he's a member of the forum) of Weapons Systems Corporation. Their Paras are on sale at a good price.

.45 cal is ok but if its to be a dedicated competition pistol, its better to get a .40 instead. para di ka na mag-upgrade later on.

jundeleon is selling his P14-45 limited. look it up at the buy and sell thread.

iputok mo lang hanggang meron bumigay. palitan mo na lang mga parts as a result of wear and tear later on.

jezzz,

i think ilocano is selling his para .40 cal unless he and gunfool struck a deal.

imho, armscor is ok for a game gun. mco is the living testament to that, his customized armscor whipped a lot of S_I in matches. because its the indian, not the arrow;z

besides, i have yet to meet an IPSC shooter using the 1911 platform na hindi minodify o kinalikot ang baril niya. an tuned/customized armscor would fare well against its more expensive brothers

some observations on the ongoing show:

1. glocks are selling at lower than last year's prices with srps hovering in the 35k range;

2. hk pistols' prices have risen significantly. the standard usp selling at around 80k and the tactical around 120k. previous prices were 50k and 80k respectively. advanced weapons systems carries a wide assortment of hk pistols now. Are they the official distributor now?

3. still no cz sp01, mukhang di na yata ito dadating;

4. no rifles in sight; twin pines has a good selection of shotguns from mossberg;

5. the new line of paraord firearms look great but are pricey at 90k srp.

well that is the tricky part, with those flaws, i'd bet quality would be inconsistent. if you just need a pistol for plinking, it'll probably do. but for IPSC, it might be smart to get one of the regular units.

went to gun show last night hindi ako masyadong nakaikot kasi late na akong dumating. Im coming back today there. do you have any suggestion on what stores sell the best price for 9mm hollow points and reloads?

Eye Cutter
07-15-2005, 18:09
teka, teka... isep-isep muna.

7k nga ang difference ng 9mm sa .40cal pistol, pero consider parts and gunsmithing costs to re-fit the new barrel and cutting the breechface of the 9mm to fit .40 brass.

an armscor .40 barrel is around 2k, fitting is 1500, recut the breechface to .40 specs is around 1k. mukhang hindi cost effective. plus refinishing pa if needed. 750 for reblueing to 3k for hard chrome. that's 7.5k already.

also, remember that the .40 and 9mm mags are not interchangeable. obligado ka to get new mags. 1800 x 4 = 5200

besides, the FA license will be in 9mm and your unit will be .40, meron discrepancy, baka magka problema ka pag binenta mo. re-register from 9mm to 40 is an additional 2500 yata.

bottom line, get the .40 cal unit instead.

if you plan to make it into a custom project .40 pistol, get the buddy unit, magagawan ng paraan ng gunsmith yung mga cosmetic flaws. welding lang katapat noon. then saka ka na mag splurge sa custom parts.

Anyway, I have a chance to also get a Mossberg 590 at the gun show. There are two models, one has a 14" barrel / 6 shots and the other has an 18" barrel / 9 shots. Both come with a heat shield, heavy barrel, ghost ring rear sight, and parkerized.
The main purpose for my purchase will be home defense and maybe some range time.
Am I giving up anything, aside from magazine capacity, if I go with the 14" model?
Which one should I get???

Allan

Ps. cross posted this also on non-glock firearms forums. Shhhhh....;f

glock 17 or 19?

either one will do for home defense. if you want to try ipsc shotgun competition, get the 18" mossy

I went to gunshow kanina and purchased an Armscor .40 hi-cap 2-tone (wala vail sa blue) sa Squires n Bingham. Sana okay ang unit na mapupunta sa akin. 2 weeks daw ang proc before I get the pistol, si Chiqui ang nag-assist sa akin. So, ang mga units ba na available sa gunshow eh hindi inferior compared sa mga units pag walang gunshow? Binigyan na rin pala ako ng serial no.

It was indeed a great gunshow. i think it will last until monday. i bought several stuff at a cheaper price. however, i wish i couldve known more about the BOG shirt. i could've ordered and purchased one. anyway, i hope i can soon get one.
really liked that shirt.

good buy yang armscor! next purchase will be extra magazines (4 is ideal, but 3 will do) and good holster, belt, and mag pouches

Went to the gun show today. Finally got to meet deenoh at the WSC booth :). Didn't see anyone else as they were all probably at the range. That 3 inch(not including the 1 inch compensator) barreled SW .500 Magnum was a sight to behold as it was the first time I saw it(wasn't able to go last year). But at 86,000 for the unit and 200 bucks per cartridge, its just not practical. The display of Desert Eagles in different calibers was another highlight for me.

Its good that Advanced Weapons systems is poised to be the official distributor of Heckler and Koch in a few months time. They're easier to deal with compared to that-gunstore-who-must-not-be-named ;f.
Will finally be able to repair my busted HK .45 :)

Yes. Advanced Weapons Systems had the P2000SK on display.
Price is Php 85,000.
Price is too high even for a quality brand like Heckler and Koch.
For than money, you could buy two Glocks and one Norinco/Armscor at gunshow prices.

I was finally able to go this afternoon, right after I indulged in a buying binge of ridiculously cheap K-Swiss shoes at the neighboring MT#1 (took home one for each of the three in the family, two for me, another two for my nieces, and countless other goodie stuffs. I nearly forgot why I was in Megamall for! ;))

Anyways, here are my observations:
1. It's no longer as fun being at Squires/Armscor as before. Now they tied up all the guns, with those plastic crimps/belts! Why don't they just put all of them in the vault and let buyers choose via catalogues instead. That's just not fair to us "kalikot"(tinkerer)boys!

2. I think it's highway robbery to have to buy a permit on ammo purchases. It doesn't help the local gun economy to move as brisk as it could with the government's hand on all aspects of our transactions.

3. The pricing on the HK's really are really scandalous, nearly as expensive as a Desert Eagle! I could have had a SOCOM for that price 3 years ago. They're just out of reach nowadays. But heck, I have one so who am I to complain... ;)

4. IMO, best buys would be the reconditioned Beretta 92S at 24.5K, the Tanfoglio at 25K ata, the Armscor 40's at 23.5K, 9mm Buddy's at 15K yata, the PT92/PT917 at 23K, as always-the Norincos in 1911 starting at 14K, the hi-cap NP10 at 20K, even the lowly Tokarev clone at 9K, the SIG clones look very interesting and cheap at 15K, the Glocks starting at a 'measly' 34K, even the Sig Sauer 225 now looks appetizing at a bargain price of 58K.

4. With Glocks at such a low price, I'd just ignore the HS's and the Bernardelli's. These two are even more expensive at 38K.

I also assisted my youngest brother to buy his first gun for HD, a stainless 4" Rossi 38spl revolver at PBD at a very cheap 12.8K. It already has a ventilated rib, hi-vis front sight, adjustable rear, vent ports, and a very comfortable rubber grip. I'm looking forward to being his instructor once I have the gun in my dirty and selfish hands... ;)

Newbie lang po sa gun world. Bought an Armscor Buddy midsized .45 sa gunshow. This is my very first gun. Sayang nga lang at ngayon ko lang nakita ang website na ito. Mejo bothered ako sa comments about the Buddy. What modifications do I need to do in the future to my unit? Actually the Buddy will be the 2nd gun I will handle since sabi ko nga bago lang ako. Once ko lang na-try mag-firing d2 sa Manila Downtown sa Binondo.

Un defects ba nya ay delikado? May nakita kasi akong pic d2 sa forums na nasira un slider(?). Your help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

it is nice to get the 590a1 hb with 18" barrel. it is what the army uses:) and if you run out of shells you can fix your bayonet on it;f with the shorter model, you get a louder gun with less velocity and less capacity and no bayonets. but it is handy.

its a nice gun, but not that fast to reload. have to fight the lifter which i think is stiffer than the benellis:)

fabarm is a separate firm who manufactures shotguns in brescia italy:) hk is only marketing them in the states as they parted ways with benelli and needs a shotgun worthy of the hk logo. i also kind of liked the usp tactical but the price is just too high for me.

Thanks, I'm not really worried about replacing the parts it's just that I want to avoid accidents as much as possible. Will hard/black chroming the gun help or it's just to rust proof it?

my 9mm open will sport most of the armscor parts and i will not have it finished till it works properly. no jams/problems except for ammo related for 5t rounds.

ill change the hammer sear disconnector since i already have sv parts and i would like the trigger to break at 1.5 pounds which casted hammers/sears of armscor may not take the light pull

thanks for the info sir cebuboy. now i know why it has the HK logo. So that what also happened between HK and benelli...
As fo HK and Glock.. i love both but i cant compare them coz both has its own advantages as well as disadvantages. But for now, i love my glock more than my HK.
