I've been thinking about getting a USGI WW2 era 1911 but I haven't been able to find much info and the search feature on this board is down....
Are there any reasonably priced USGI 1911's? Perhaps some that were refurbed, with replacement parts, etc? I did a search on gunbroker and really didn't see too many on there and the ones I did see were insanely expensive.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

I dunno but I sure hope you find what you are lookin' for. :) ;? ^c
Authentic WWII 1911A1's are rather expensive, particularly if they have the original finish (approximately $1000 or more depending on manufacturer). Rebuilt examples will be priced somewhat less.

I was checking out the 1911's on auctionarms and your right, they are pretty expensive. Which brings me to my next question. Are there any good repros out there identical to the original USGI 1911?
yes, Colt puts out their very nice WWI reproduction 1911. You are gonna have a hard time finding one and it will hurt you to the tune of a thousand or so, less if you shop real hard.

Anyone know anything about the RIA 1911 USGI repros? Sarco is selling them for about $284 as a dealer price. They seem pretty good for the price.....

Rutgergrad if it doesnt have to be a original Gi gun may I suggest the following? Springfield armory GI series there very affordable, also auto ordnance make a decent looking Gi 1911. thanks;P
