There is a type of military flap holster that has two little leather loops on the front for holding the cleaning rod.

I NEED one of those. It MUST be one that holds the cleaning rod on the front edge of the holster.

WHERE can I find one? I find plenty of flap holsters but none have the cleaning rod loops on the front edge.

If I get desperate enough, I can have one sent from a friend in Russia but it would take months to get and it would cost much more to ship than it is worth.

Like this?
PM your address and I'll send you one. I think I'll be in town Monday.
It will have to be one of the brown ones if that's OK, I only have one Black.

Well, up here in Alaska Makarovs are no where near as popular in the lower 48 so the possiblity to find one is much less. I have found plenty of ones without the cleaning rod loops but none with them.

M2 Carbine YES THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! Please see you private message.

I used to have one but I sold that gun to a friend who really could not afford anything else. At the time there were no other holsters available but the military flap holsters.

So...we cut the flap off along with the section under/around the grip, boned it down for a tighter fit and had him wear it cross draw. He would pull up on the lift strap with his left hand to get it started coming out and grab and draw with his right.

The opportunity one day came for him to trade it in on a more powerful and versatile gun (a GP100) and with my blessing (it was my idea) did so and the holster went with it.

I have never seen another with the cleaning rod holder.

BTW, M2 carbine, I am NOT going to butcher the one you send me now that other holster options exist. I want it just to have. To sort of complete the package.

OK Ted.
I read and answered your PM before I read your above post.
Sounds like you need the cleaning rod to, I'll send one.:)

BTW, from what I've seen the holsters that are coming with the Bulgarian pistols are worn out crap. Of the last three I got, all were badly worn out.

Come to think of it, few of the holsters I received with twenty some Maks were new.

I think www.cheaperthandirt.com carries these for $6 or so.

M2 Carbine was nice enough to give me one. Tommorow I am playing dress up for grown ups and taking some pictures (actually my friend is taking the pictures, I am modeling) of me in Czech BDU's with a Makarov and flap holster and kalashnikov. I will post them later.

I know the Kalashnikov and Makarov don;t truly fit in with the Czech BDU's but at least it all fits the Iron Curtain theme.

I just got a E German holster from Makarov.com and it doesn't have the loops.

But the holster looks unused with just a little wear from sitting around.

Buck, you're a class act. You really exemplify what the GT family is all about. Someday, I hope I have the priviledge of meeting you.
