Hi,
I am located in california and the Department of Justice has not authorized the glock 38 and 39. Reliability is my number one factor in purchasing a firearm and I wanted to know what do people think of their 45 gap glocks.
Have you heard of stories of them going kb? Is the 45 gap a high pressure round? Any reliability issues with these firearms?
I was looking at the glock 19 and 23. I just feel like the 9mm does not have enough punch and the .40 glocks seem have more problems.

I love my 37, very accurate and no problems... And I'm just waiting for the 38 to be approved for my next purchase

Do you know when DOJ will approve it?
Is the 45 gap considered a high pressure round?
The .45GAP is considered low-pressure; 21,000psi'ish I believe.
No stories of KB's from retail *new* ammunition that I am aware of; the brass is made thicker just incase ;)
I think the .45GAP is a real winner... some people bad mouth it, but when I am at the range everyone wants to try it out ;)
hehe

In answer to your questions. No. No. No.

1. Bore size
Even the best and newest jhp bullets can have the hollow-point plugged by heavy material from clothing or soft wood (soft pine used in door-frames defeats most) and yield little or no expansion. When this happens, the larger the un-expanded bullet is the better because "bigger holes cause faster leaks."
2. Pressure
45 GAP operates at very slightly higher pressure than 45 ACP and MUCH less than 40 or 357. Recovery from the less "sharp" recoil is quicker and, combined with brass reinforced in the web area, makes a KB VERY unlikely.
3. Length
Shorter cartridge length allows a smaller grip frame, giving better comfort and control for MOST hands compared to the 45 ACP frames. Also, since the slide needs less travel to pick up the next round, reliability should be improved.

I have had one of each Gock made except The Model 18.
I like the Glock Model 38 in .45gap the best of any Glock made to
date.
I have never heard of a KB with the .45gap round.
If someone wanted they might be able to make one KB by reloading and
seating the bullet really deep...
Sorry I leaked out a way to make it KB.
