Glock 17L help needed

I recieved a G 17L upper this evening and was attempting to install a set of Trijicons on it and noticed that the front sight hole was too small to accomodate the sight. Also, the small hole near the recoil spring area is too small to accomodate the front sight installation tool. I looked at my G 34 and the hole is more than large enough. Any ideas from G 17L owners?

I am very concerned about this 'cause I have a 17L waiting to be picked up and I want to put a set of Heinie's on it.
Is the front sight hole too small side to side or front to rear or both?
Does the area where the front sight screw goes look normal? I figure I can shave some off the sides of the front sight to get it in if I have to.
I would hate to pry the factory sight off and be stuck without sights.
