View Full Version : PM9 owners check your guns!
please. I noticed that my new PM9.a VB serial number pistol has a notch in the left metal rail that sits in the dust cover. Is this normal? I put 200 rounds through it today and it had no malfunctions but I did notice if you cycle the slide slowly it will catch. My other PM9 a VA serial number does not have this notch.
see pic.

Yes, the notch is quite normal. Some have it and some don't. Doesn't make a bit of difference either way.
I sure wish the search function was working. I think we last covered this subject about two weeks ago. :)
thought the search was just not working for me.
anyway thanks for the reply.
do you know why this notch is there.

Mine has the notch and it hasn't had one malfunction and that includes the break in period. I love my PM9. ;3

One of my PM9's had that notch & right around 1/3rd of the PM9's I see have the same... no problem(s)!
My PM9 also has the small notch on the left rail, although maybe not as pronounced as yours. Mines more like a small nick, almost like someone nicked it with a dremel cutting bit or something. I'm glad you posted. I thought mine was the only one, that it was just some kind of machining mistake at the factory. I think I noticed the notch on mine the first time that I field stripped it for cleaning. It hasn't seemed to hurt the performance of the pistol any. I have about 900 rnds. through mine now, and it's running great. Very accurate too for such a small pistol. I have no idea why the notch is there, but I wish someone would give us an answer.
