Just had my first experience after changing the stock recoil spring and rod assembly with one from Wolff. I purchased the one with a slightly stronger spring.
I had been having some stovepipe and failure to eject issues with the stock unit. The plastic portion of the stock rod seem to be bent when the assembly was placed back in the pistol.
The results: a perfect day of over 200 rounds! Not one problem. It was shooting so well that I forgot that I was testing the new assembly. Very, very fine combination - MK 9 with Wolff recoil assembly. As a famous Jedi knight would say: "Shoot well it did. Nice it was."
