first time out-Wolff reduced FP spring installed. 50 rounds of Speer Lawman, 20 Speer Gold Dots. More recoil then expected, thought I'd get more push then rise. Had a Kahr P40 covert with me and subjective recoil less in the Kahr. Not what I'd expected. That was all the ammo I had so till later. Returned from range and mailman had left me a 3.5# connector and a +1 extension. Installed both last night,(I'm in NH and dremel & Flitz in Fl. so no polishing done) not much improvement over the reduced power fp spring. Also the +1 extension wouldn't accept 7 rounds in one of the mags and really have to work to get 7 into the other mag. Only time and range work will tell if the top round is going to strip. Guess the lady from Pearce was correct when she said they didn't have a +1 for the 39. Accuracy seems acceptable. Now to find a source for cheap ammo!

I have the Pearce +1 for G27 on both my G39 magazines and they are less "tight" with 7 rounds than my stock G37 magazines are with 10.
I and several experienced friends have fired my G39 "back to back" with a G27 and all agree that the recoil of the G39 is less "sharp." All felt the G39 pushed instead of "spanked" the firer's hand and so were able to recover for a second aimed round quicker. This is probably due to the G39's heavier slide as well as to the 45 GAP round having MUCH lower pressure than the 40. Your comparison of the "subjective recoil" could be because the Kahr fits your hand better. How do the pistols compare weight-wise? If the Kahr is heavier, it would absorb more of the "subjective recoil."

The P40 covert is probably around 18 oz empty-holds 5 +1 in chamber. The G39 is definately a heavier gun. As to the Pearce +1, I only ordered one. First mag wouldn't come close to holding 7. Removed and put on other mag and just barely get the 7th round in. With both the normal base and the +1, I have to insert the mag with the slide locked back then release the slide. Theres no way I can insert the mag then rack the slide to chamber the first round. Maybe leaving them loaded for a while will get them to loosen up some!
