I am looking forward to my first H&K purchase as soon as I decide which one. This weapon will be mainly for CCW, home defense, with range time necessary to be proficient. I currently have mainly .40 calibers and would love to go back to a .45 with my new purchase but would also consider a 9mm. I want the lowest recoil (for back on target acquisition) possible with the best knock down power. If I must pick I would prefer target acquisition over knock down which would allow for better shot placement.
Also, I prefer DA what do most of the H&K's fall into regarding this preference?
Thanks for any suggestions.

For CCW I would prefer the P2000 V3 ( with SA/DA trigger ) or maybe the P 2000sk in 9mm Luger.
It's a good pistol for self-defense and it will knock down well with good jhp ammo like the Speer Gold Dot.
The P2000SK in 9mm or 40 should fit your needs. Its a great little gun. The LEM trigger is awesome once you're used to it.

For concealed carry, low bore axis, and exceptional accuracy -- there is none other than the P7M8 or PSP.
My PSP riding in a Matt Del Fatti holster is my frequent CCW choice.
Here is a picture of the results of the first magazine shot through the gun during the first range session. It is one of my favorite guns.
