I think a lot more have a G17 and that forum is almost untouched. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try, though. Glock'n 07-15-2005, 09:06 Yeah, but the 17 isn't a 34. And right out of the box it will never be a 34. Seems like everybody is on this practical/tactical kick right now! ffcracker 07-15-2005, 17:15 Someone mentioned before that we needed a forum for all of the long slided Glock. I think this would make a better forum with the most possible members. This way there could be discussions on the 17L, 24, 34 and 35. Not to mention the two different calibers of thes 4 models. I think a 34 only group is just to narrow. Glock'n 07-15-2005, 17:23 I'm down with that!!! HAMMERHEAD 07-15-2005, 20:02 I agree with ffcracker. ffcracker 07-16-2005, 00:20 I started a thread in the clubhouse. I also put a link to the thread in my SIG below. Lets get this thing rolling. ;a Lancelot 07-16-2005, 07:49 Where is there a G17 forum? On this board? . ffcracker 07-16-2005, 13:01 Its called The Founders Club. Like a lot of the clubs here on GT they have a name that doesnt tell you a lot unless you read the sub title. Here is a link. http://glocktalk.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=140 DeLandSkyjumper 07-16-2005, 18:39 ffcracker, bye the time I read the 3rd post, I saw where this was going. Good call.^6 PaddyDaddyO 07-18-2005, 15:05 Longslide/Practical-Tactical forum is a great idea. I voted and am in, big time! I've been praising this pistol so much in the past week that two of my co-workers are now looking for one! PDO drofnas 07-18-2005, 21:51 Please note for those reading here, there is a link to the forum that needs your response in all of "ffcracker"'s posts. Click the link. Note your support. I think they need 50 to get it started. HERB 07-23-2005, 23:47 I am in. drofnas 07-24-2005, 14:38 Posting here DOES NOT vote for the new club. I need a bit more convincing to get a G34. sundance43.5 08-01-2005, 11:58 voted, great idea BTW ffcracker 08-02-2005, 13:56 Originally posted by blueiron Bumping this to the top. It makes all G17's feel inadequate;f blueiron 08-02-2005, 14:42 Originally posted by ffcracker It makes all G17's feel inadequate;f That's a start, but I need a really compelling reason [I don't own a G17 anymore - just a G19]. Is it really worth a hundred dollars more than a 17? Is it markedly more accurate? Do I really need another range gun? Should I stop saving my money for a SIG P210? Will it make me more handsome at the range? By the way, kicking this thread to the top so we can get the Longslide forum going... DeLandSkyjumper 08-02-2005, 21:35 blueiron, keep saving, but buy the 34 instead and order a Carver mount and C-More. And then go out and have some fun with it. Wallygator 08-03-2005, 14:43 Voted!:) I don't have one yet but the 34 is the next one. ;d joker22 08-03-2005, 17:26 I thought this was the G34 forum. -joker22 ffcracker 08-03-2005, 19:31 I think we only neen 10 more votes to get it! GSD4ME 08-05-2005, 10:27 Lets get the G34 forum rollin!! Mine was only $30 more than a G17. ^8 blueiron 08-11-2005, 04:15 Yes, unfortunately they are. Very few Glock 9mm pistols in LEO service around here anymore, yet the G34 is still pretty expensive. With CDNN selling used G17 pistols for a very fair price, it makes it hard to justify $200 more than used or $100 more than new. I still want one, but I jumped on the Steyr M9 before they are no more. Great gun at an unbeatable price. Still looking for a nice used G34 though. PaddyDaddyO 08-11-2005, 07:21 Originally posted by blueiron Is it really worth a hundred dollars more than a 17? Most definitely. I had a 1st gen 17 years ago and the 34 is a completely different animal. The more I shoot it, the less I shoot my Springfield 1911 ... and that is saying something. If you get one, you will not be dissapointed. PDO izzyandal 08-11-2005, 09:20 Just ordered a new G34. I can drive tacks with my other pieces, but my G17 was like a shotgun in my hands. I used a borrowed G34 and made one big hole at 30 feet. It is as accurate as my Kimber Target II stainless. ffcracker 08-11-2005, 14:22 Wow, I didnt know I was getting such a deal on mine. vBulletin® v3.7.3, Copyright ©2000-2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. | ![]() |
