View Full Version : Trigger bar spring help needed
I knew this would happend eventually. While cleaning my MK9, the trigger bar sping popped out. (That's part number 13 on MK Series blow up picutre). Even looking at the blown up parts picture in the Operating Instructions I cannot figure out how to put the trigger bar spring back in place.
Does anyone have a picutre of this sping in place (i.e. right side of the frame with gip panels off)? Or perhaps a good step-by-step description of the procedure?
Thanks!

This is from memory so here goes:
The spring is straight on one end and the other end has a little U-shaped saddle to it. There is a loop near the U-shaped end. The U-shaped end fits underneath the trigger bar and the straight end fits into the grooved channel on the frame.
Of course, make sure that it's unloaded first.
Have the slide off and with the frame laying on it's left side, muzzle pointing to your right. The straight part of the spring points to the rear of the frame & fits into the recess (groove)in the frame. The coiled loop is towards the muzzle, with the U-shaped end under the trigger bar. Place the straight end into the frame and compress the spring so that the U-shaped end fits under the trigger bar.
Once this is done, ensure that the entire spring is as far to the right as possible and you may want to put a 1/2 drop of lube under the trigger bar so that it slides more smoothly along the spring.
Take a look at the parts section on the Kahr site, it shows an exploded diagram of how it's oriented in the frame.
It is a little tricky until you've done it a few times.
Here's a linky to the Kahr site.

Good luck, be patient and it'll fit.
mercury40,
Thanks for the directions. Unfortunately, I am still not having any success.
I would truly appreciate it if someone could post a photograph of the spring in place. Preferrably on an MK series Kahr.
Thank you.

I currently do not have the ability to take photographs. Maybe someone else can and will post one.
Or for a quick look-see, you could try going to your local gunstore and see if they'd let you remove the grip panel from one in the display cabinet.
mercury40,
Stopping by my local dealer is a good idea and I had not thought of it. Thanks!
Anyone else feel like taking a couple minutes to take a picture of the trigger bar spring in place for me? Any help is appreceiated.
