An opportunity has arisen to purchase a USPc in 9mm [stainless] for a reasonable price. On the other hand, the P2000 appears attractive for its intended purpose.
Might anyone that has experience with both pistols care to share their insights with these pistols? I am looking for advantages/disadvantages to either pistol. Thanks in advance.

I opted for a stainless USPc because of the price... dollar for dollar, the P2000 just didn't have that much more to offer...

I've actually been torn between the two also latley, and I think I'm going to get the USPc. Mainly because of the deal Razorback posted, but I also like the saftey switch on the USP. The USPc is also a tad smaller, probably noy enough to make a big difference though...
I had a P2000 and I have a USPc. The P2000 is slightly smaller than the USPc, but I had trouble with the grip. You'd think for a gun with four different backstraps there would be something for everyone, but the grip just didn't work for me. The USPc was much more ergonomic for my hand, so I kept the USPc and sold the P2000. It's a shame, too, because I really tried to like the P2000. It's small, very compact, I just couldn't get it to fit me right. You may have better luck.
It's essentially the same gun...I actually prefer the look and fit of the USP-C. If you want the best of both worlds, get a USP-C and convert it to an LEM trigger.
Just saw this post, and I've been in the same boat as you untill today, I went to my local shop, just to really play with P2000 before making final decision.
P2000 feel better than USPc in my hand, more conture, the slide is slightly lower profile, the grip, the feel when you just run your fingers through the gun, it just feel great! But, I decided I will go for the USPc insted! .. why?
I can't eject the mag on P2000! No mater how much I've tried, I just can't, index finger, thump, it just wouldn't flush. Darn shame...
The piont is, you have to really play with it, shoot it if someone you know has one. Something ridiculous like mine might come up just when you fall in love with it. 'Cause next thing you know, there's no return!

P2000 w/ LEM.
Its about the same size as the USPc, and to me feels better.
As far as the guy about not being able to eject the magazine, why not? Same magazine release as on all the USP models. I dont see a difference in it between the USP Fullsize, the USP compact or the p2000. Just feels the same to me, but people are different.

How's the quality of H&K USP's versus the P-2000? Looking for a good CCW 9mm or 45 compact pistol.
Steve
P.S. CDNN is running a special on new H&K 9mm USP compacts (TT9P) with polymer frame for only $259 or $289 for the 45 ACP (TT45P). Should I pay more for the updated version in the P-2000 series?

You do know that compact grip is not the same size as the full size, right? You might feel "the same" 'cause the similarlity in grip angle. Take a really close look at it, P2k is much more contour, while USP grip is more square( very obvious even just to look at it..). Now place the gun side buy side where back strap are line up evenly, no mag, you "might" see the differences..
To be clear of what happended "TO ME" was, "MY" index finger to press on it, I just couldn't move "MY" finger any furture to activate it. Funny thing is, the guy at the shop couldn't flush the mag either, and he has a P2k! We played for hours in the shop, it was slow, and I bought all of my guns there for years. "MY" index finger is still hurt as we speak!
I really love the gun, the feel when I'm holding it, and I'm sure it'll shoot great too! This will be my IDPA gun, and I can not afford the completely let go all my griping each time I reload, period.
To the original post, your need and anatomy "ARE" different than "ME" for sure. If the shop you are going to is cool, try to do everything as if you were playing with it at home, not just holding, pointing, is all I'm saying.

Yeah but $90+ shipping for the trigger change from HK is high.

Steve you need to look at that ad a little closer or I need to get out my check book. I don't think you will ever see HK for that price any where.
I prefeer the USP compact. I have had both the 45 and 40 converted by HK to LEM. They are fine shooters.

Since you didn't get it when explained to you in another post.....
THOSE ARE NOT H&K PISTOLS.

Good luck and have fun with yours. Since I won't be able to compete with it, I'm gonna get one for my +1, so I can shoot it some times, that's a better solution for me!!! ;f
