;i I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that there is a hottie Kahr girl that would sell it much better than I ever could. ;)
Ha!
There is no way lady you can conceal any of those pistols. You would end up lookin' like an eskimo.
And that would be bad thing. ;)

None (well maybe Smartcarry... maybe) with that mode of dress, but I'm sure you knew that already. :)
On a serious note, have you checked out FIST's line of "LADYFIST HOLSTERS"? They're spesificaly designed for women, by women & can be had in leather or in kydex... they get good reports around here from the ladies, check'em out sometime:

Michigun...Not even the SmartCarry is going in those jeans. ;i (Too low). Those are definitely a none-carry kind of day pair of jeans. My tactical 5.11's work much better, maybe I should have worn those for the picture. :) OH, and thanks for the link! Lou Alessi is an excellent holster maker. I have two of them. He's highly regarded in CCW and LEO circles. His website is in flux, but www.rfholsters.com or www.lightningarms.com will get you to some of his products.

Have you considered an anke holster for the Kahr? That might work for this type of dress.
FL-obiwan
07-21-2005, 13:07
Mike and GoBlue may be right. Lou Alessi and Ken Null (there's another name for you) make the best ankle holsters on the market. While ankle rigs can be slow (you can't draw and run at the same time) and somewhat impractical, in many circumstances they can be a top choice. Your PM would be a perfect ankle gun IF you clean it regularly. At first it would feel like a 10lb weight on your leg, but you get used to it quickly. I'm not allowed a BUG on duty, but if I were it would be in an ankle rig. ;a

It's a liability thing. Years ago I asked the question to "the guy" in charge of firearms/tactics headquartered in D.C. and that was the response. It sure will be a liability thing if I die in a situation caused by bureaucratic stupidity. My widow will sue big time! :soap:

GregG...Thank you. ;i You're WAY too kind but thank you. :)
mikeb...I have thought about an ankle holster and I have kind of reconsidered due to the time it would take me to get to it if I really needed it in a hurry, or like FL-obiwan said, if I had to run away at the same time. But I'm starting to think that if it comes down to wanting to wear a certain thing for a certain event, etc., the ankle holster would be WAY better than not carrying at all. I may look into trying one.
FL-obiwan...I'm used to wearing ankle weights at the gym so I think my biggest problem will be that I'll feel off balance. ;i I just may give that a try though!
(I'm assuming BUG is Back Up Gun. Am I correct? Are you an LEO?)

"I think my biggest problem will be that I'll feel off balance."
That brings up an interesting question. I have never worn an ankle holster.
Do they throw your gait off balance?
How long does it take to learn to walk "normally" with an ankke holster?
and last qwestion: Do you find yourself off balance when you are NOT wearing an ankle holster after you have gotten used to it?

No problems like that at all when I use ankle carry. It took me about 5 to 10 days to really get use it. With the right holster you will actully forget its there. For almost 20 years I used a S&W Model 60 1 7/8"bbl with boot grips there were many times I actully forgot I had it on. I recently started carrying my E9 in a ankle rig and it surprised me in being almost as easy as my old Smith. My full time work I have to be 100% concealed,(they don't like guns and will fire if they see or know). It might work for you then it might. Holsters and methods of carry are a hard one because what works for one don't for someone else. Hope that helps out.

FL-obiwan
07-22-2005, 10:45
Like I said, it's a liability issue. They don't issue BUGs and our regs say that we are only authorized to carry issued or privately owned/gov authorized guns on duty or off duty (if you don't have a civilian CCW license). They're afraid that we may have to actually shoot someone with it, so instead of making us qual with our BUG of choice (or issue one to us), they simply state "NO BUG". Other agencies authorize them and rumor has it that the topic is being reconsidered for us. Most of our guys/girls don't have any concept of "officer survival" so they don't care (if they've ever thought about the subject). Most don't even like to practice advanced techniques during our qual days. I don't know of anyone carrying one in spite of the regs, however I feel that if I were in situations more "dynamic" than my current assignment, one would find its way onto my person. I don't want to be more specific - this is a public forum. I really do appreciate your concern.;a

I just find it crazy that civilians with a carry permit carry a BUG but LEO's can't. Amazing.

Well GirlWithGlock, if you’re going to be the “Kahr Club’s Official Pinup Queen” you’re going to have to supply a picture of just yourself & your Kahr… sorry, but the GLOCK’ll have to be left out of this one! ;)
(FYI, at 1st I kind of thought the whole idea of a “pinup queen” here in the Kahr Club was lacking taste (maybe that was more because I didn’t know how GirlWithGlock would take it), for a lack of better words, but the more I think about it the more I think it is a very unique idea. (A lot of products have attractive models & I never give that a second though nor ever thought it was tasteless…) We’d definitely have a 1st here on GT & it would be something fun. I say if GirlWithGlock agrees (no pressure of course) that this needs to be set!)
"attention whore" I say Bull *****, how about being honest and posting an actual pic of yourself and not someone else. Good for you that you accually take good care of yourself and enjoy shooting. My wife went shooting with me and was wearing high heals and a mini skirt. The guys at the range thought it was good that she would practice shooting as she would be dressed in the event that she needed to shoot. In other words, not wearing range clothes. They would not talk to her if I was out on the range at the same time but I had fun and so did she. Sorry that some feel the need to label others for justification of some kind to themselves. Thanks for posting a pic of you with your Kahr and Glock. Notice I did not say GUNS.;f ;a Hopefully I can get pics of myself and wife up sometime. I feel it is nice to put a face with the handle. Bigbob because I'm 6'8" about 300lbs. My wife, 5'3" about 110lbs. Mut and Jeff

He's a cool guy. ;) I won't promise a bikini picture (don't want to scare you like that!) but will try to think of something fun. :)
galemac...Go Gophers!! :)
big68...Excellent idea to practice shooting in typical everyday clothes! I do that, too. I wear tank tops, shorts, sandles, etc. The shoes are probably the most important thing to get used to. Shooting in sandles is not as easy as shooting in a nice pair of leather boots!

First off I think the Pin Up is a great idea but first GWG needs to change her name to Girl With Kahr. Second It would be easier to explain my new addtion to my screen saver to my wife so I don't end up getting ;2 chewed out.LOL Third I think Michigun should relot my club number to GWK after she changes her name.
In all fun it sounds like a fun idea. I asked my wife and already get told politely NO but she did smile about it. Now in all seriousness I think its good to see some women getting into shooting seen and I think we men better practice because they will be out shooting us. Most of the ladies I have taught learned fast and were excellant shooter.

Girl with Glock your pic and choice of firearms is commendable. As far as holsters go for carrying a Kahr. The best Ankle Holster is the one Alessi Holsters makes.DeSantis and Don Hume make some very good ankle holsters also. I saw Backdraft mentioned it before but he is using a Galco Ankle Holster and hates the elastic band on his leg. He has a Alessi ankle holster for his J Frame and loves it, and has used it for over 10 years. I know he ordered one for his Kahr a few weeks ago and can't wait for it.
